I was looking for this video yesterday morning to explain to my brother how forgiveness works. It is amazing that this video came out late yesterday, and it explains exactly what I was asking yesterday! Ever since I started going to an LCMS Church (from ELCA) these strange "coincidences" keep happening. HA love the videos!

Love the light board but loved the grace of God spoken even better! Thank you and God's peace be with you.

Youtube played a Planned Parenthood ad before your video. "They won't stop banning abortion until they've banned ALL abortion!" ... yes, that's the idea.

I couldn't watch until I figured out how the lightboard works: the camera is aimed away from the glass and into a mirror, inverting the picture so it looks like the Pastor is writing perfectly backwards. Confused? If the camera were aimed at him directly, the text would look backwards. Pretty sneaky, sis!

God be praised.

I like the light board! Good stuff! Just found your channel. While there will be points of doctrine we disagree on I recognise in you the day-to-day expression of self that magnifies Christ, and I reckon that's the most important thang. None of us are going to have complete conformity on all our subjectively held beliefs but our actions or fruit will reveal who we are at heart and your enthusiasm for God comes through.

Dear Bryan Wolfmueller, great presentation! I'm happy to see that you came back to the subject of absolution. I agree with what you said. Nevertheless, it seems to me that there are just some gaps in the theory, regarding the actions of the one who is set free and the mediator. Luke 18:9-14: the tax collector asks for forgiveness: "God have mercy on me a sinner". John 8, 11: Jesus to the woman caught in adultery says “Neither I condemn you (...) go now and leave your life of sin”. In the parable of the lost son, the initiative to come back to the fathers comes from the son himself (Luke 15, 11-32). So, for God forgiveness, two active actions of the believer are necessary: repentance and change of life. Furthermore, read Romans 6: 1-14 and Colossians 1:24. The event of the death of Jesus on the Cross is not isolated from the life of the believer. The believer is called to "participate" to the suffering of Jesus, and baptism "unites" him to this mistery. God doesn't want us to be just "passive" in the event of redemption, but he loves us so much that he makes us participants of his death and resurrection by baptism. That means that we have to bring on us not just our sin, but also the sins of others, as Jesus did. I would like to know if you read something about apostolic succession in the Fathers of the Church, because the question about who is in charge of the mediation, and from where the authority comes from remains open. God bless you! Your catholic friend.

I so appreciate the light board and that you were doing all of this backwards!

Thank you for this illustration to understand this better. I listened to a Baptist Bible study and their misunderstanding of this verse is frustrating.

You perfectly described The meaning of Juneteenth. On January 1, 1863, The Emancipation Proclamation decree was The Law of The United States of America, but we had a “corrupt jail bailiff” The State of Texas was not going to change until it was forced to do so. It wasn’t until June 19, 1865 when enslaved people of African descent in Galveston Texas finally learned of their freedom and Union Troops enforced the law passed TWO YEARS PRIOR.

"For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them." - Ephesians 2:8-10 KJV

All of your videos are wonderful. Thank you. Sometime I would love you to do a more in-depth video on forgiveness. Peace.

Wonderful, as always. I love the light board, but I’m in awe of your ability to write and draw so neatly...backwards. 😳

Love the new light board. I'm glad that Steadfast Johannes revealed the secret behind the perfect writing. I thought maybe BW was a super-talented backward writer.

Ahhh, this is as in Matt 18:15-18. It is also as in the Lord's Prayer (Matt 6, Luke 11).

Then again, all the disciples passed away many centuries ago. Even if authority was given to forgive sins not committed against themselves, who would this authority be passed on to, anybody who wants to call themselves a minister?

so cool. And the message with the illustrations helps.

I enjoyed the short presentation but I think this would be just as well done with your technique used in Grappling with the Text = just my 2 cents.
