How To: Using Only One Earbud | Indy True Wireless Earbuds | Skullcandy

Sometimes you want to be able to hear your music and still know what's going on around you. When you want to do that, you can just use one earbud. We call this Mono Mode. For Skullcandy Indy True Wireless Earbuds, the right earbud alone can be used in Mono Mode, because it is the primary earbud.

To use Mono Mode:
Step #1: Remove Skullcandy Indy True Wireless Earbuds from the case and make sure they're paired to your device.
Step #2: Place the left earbud back into the charging case.
Step #3: The right bud will remain paired & you will retain all of the right earbud functionality.

To go back, put the right earbud back into the charging case, closing the lid, & your good to start listening through both earbuds again.

I really wish I researched more before buying these. The fact that I can't use the left ear independently is extremely frustrating. As soon as I saw these I was happy to ditch my airpods. Now I'm regretting it a bit due to this flaw.

this is highly problematic. i always accidently put it on mono and have to do a hard reset everytime this happens. making all functionalities dependent upon tapping is terrible. mono mode shouldve been something accessble through an app. bose does a great job with their app that shows headphone status. you guys should invest in something like that. asking users to remember each tap and function is not only unlikely but confusing.

Been so excited to get these and the mono mode got me all sad. I adjusted by just leaving the right one out, but obviously that is not the best option. I don't think it's enough for me to return them, yet, but I may have thought twice if I had known ahead of time. That's my fault for not looking, but I figured if my 20 dollar Chinese knock off ear buds could do it, a more expensive pair would.

For next gen I'd hope either pod can be used independently. Also in high school I used to use skull candy exclusively couldn't beat the sound for the price. I hope that sound for wired headphones back in the day can be put into the new pods! Louder and a deeper base!

I believe this is a design flaw. Why make volume down and back track exclusive to the left side? Thus stopping you from using mono mode on the left earbud.. I get the indy is cheaper than airpods but i cant help but to feel robbed. The point of having 2 wireless earbuds is to give the freedom of choosing what side you wanna use at any point in time and not having to worry about losing functions just cuz im using 1 earbud

I just got it and I spent almost an hour on this trying to get two earbuds work together like a normal set, but I can't. Both of them are connected to my iPhone as two independent Indy Fuel, but I can only get sound from one of them, never both of them. How?

This is exactly why I took these back to the store. 4 hour battery life on each ear piece yet only one works without the other. Plus the controls were trash. Create an app to control things from my phone. Allow me to pair and answer from the ear pieces. Other than those issues I like the feel, fit and sound.

Hey there, love your earbuds, but for the next gen why not make the left one be able to work independently as well? So if the right one is ever out if charge you can just switch to the left? It makes it a whole lot easier, and a better product! I feel like the earbuds just need a little more work, but great product
