I'm Native American and can attest to our similarities. Our people are usually born with the Mongolian Birthmark at the base of the spine. It's usually shaped like a handprint. We have problems going to Hospitals with doctors and nurses who have never seen the birthmark before. They think the baby is being abused at home.

I'm cambodian. I get mistaken as Hispanic or native American sometimes. I've go pay for something at the gas station. The person in front of me is paying. Cashier will speak English, but when I come up to pay he starts speaking Spanish to me.

As an Apache, I think it’s absolutely fascinating. Learning new things about your ancestors is something really special.

A few months ago, I visited my daughter in another state, and my children and I wore our masks. A man at an intersection began screaming at us to go back to where we came from. Which was bizarre, because we're from Arizona. We're indigenous. Most of our friends are indigenous, Chinese, and Korean. When we go out into the city, we're more comfortable being around Asians. Some of our overseas friends refer to us as "old Korea" or "old China." I don't find it offensive. We consider these friends to be family.

As a Mexican American with indigenous blood, I always wondered why I had such strong affinity with Asian culture as a child. I remember watching the movie Between Heaven and Earth during my childhood, and when I saw the female protagonist, I was in total awe in her beauty. I looked back towards my parents and told them “I want to marry a beautiful woman like her when I grow up”. My parents weren’t happy over what I said cuz they wanted me to marry a woman from Mexico, but I didn’t care. One of my precious childhood memories during my elementary school days was of a close friend who was Asian. Her name was Kimberly. I was really into tornadoes, and made a small group that I dubbed as the tornado chasers. Kimberly was always to warm and supportive over my silly obsession over tornadoes. That right there solidified my love and interest in wanting to know more about Asian culture even more, but it was quite the experience in realizing that my ancestors are of Asian descent.

I'm Filipino. What I've noticed is that, Filipinos have very similar phenotype with the Mayan people of South Mexico. I have a friend who visited Ciudad Merida way back in 2010. She told me that the people look similar to the people that we have in Manila and surrounding provinces.

I am Native American (Diné) I have always had long hair so, growing up in the city, Mexican, White and black kids would always call me Pocahontas. I finished school and went off to work in my aunt’s restaurant which brings in many tourist from around the world. I soon became Pocahontas for these foreign kids and taking pictures with them (can’t say no to kids) After a couple years I was tired of it so, I decided to cut my hair above my shoulders then the movie Mulan comes out! 😂 I was called Mulan for almost 2 yrs until my hair grew back out!

As a native from the sklallam rez a lot of elders thought natives and Asians had a lot in common and would probably be happy to hear about the relation

The Navajo language is related to the Ket language from Siberia. It's a cool connection.

I'm Filipino who grew up in the middle East. I've been mistaken as Indian, Nepalese, Bangladeshi, Sudanese, Indonesian, Malaysian, Cambodian, Mexican, Thai, Polynesian, etc. Specially when I travel. I don't really know if I have a generic face but knowing how to speak their language definitely helps with the confusion lol. Point is, we're all interconnected much more than we think.

I get mistaken as Asian all the time by white or black people. But Asians have told me before they can tell I’m not Asian just by looking at me. I actually took a dna test and it showed that I am 98% Native American and 2% European. So I’m pretty close to being pure blooded

This is one of my favorite subjects because it gives you and idea of where customs, food, cultures, and etc… come from. One thing to add that I find interesting is that there were more sea faring people than once thought. The horizontal angle to moving different regions is pretty spot on.

I'm Peruvian who is mostly Quechua and I found this interesting. I noticed that many Quechua and Aymara people in my country can pass for Chinese with brown skin or Southeast Asian. Some people had told me I look Chinese or Korean. 🤔
Good input and discussion. I enjoy your show.

When I was a baby my parents were eating at a Chinese buffet and the Chinese workers there took a photo with me because they said I looked Chinese 😂 I’m indigenous and from South Dakota. It’s kinda funny that some Chinese people have a baby picture of me lmao
