Excel Chart Tip: Add an Excel graph to PowerPoint without linking

If you want to add or insert an Excel chart into a PowerPoint slide, this video gives you two methods for doing so where there is no link between the chart in the PowerPoint slide and the chart or data in Excel.

In this video I show two methods for adding an Excel chart/graph to a PowerPoint slide where the chart/graph is not linked to the Excel workbook so any updates to the data will not be reflected in the PowerPoint slide. In the video I am using Excel 365 on Windows 10, and most modern versions of Excel will look very similar. If you like the video, please subscribe to the channel and add a comment below.

this is a great video. Short and to the Point. I have watched other PowerPoint videos but never knew about the Picture Enhanced Metafile (and why you might want to choose that option). I have a recent version of Office 365 with Excel and PowerPoint. l I am trying to update the data in PowerPoint Chart (with Chart Data from Excel), but it is not giving the option to Embed Workbook (the Button is missing, can't figure it out). I chose the Edit Data option, but it is taking a lot longer (its a too long to type out why that part takes me longer than usual), but now after updating the data/including the Data Selected in the Chart, the Horizontal Axis is not showing the new updated data (its very frustrating and even reviewing Microsoft Forum posts is of no benefit on this, they just give some nonsense feedback on how to resolve).

One thing must be said about the 2nd method. It makes your PowerPoint file larger in size and if u have u have many slides the file might become very large that u cant share as an attachment.

Hello. Do you know why the text i pasted on the graph would not copied to the power point slide i pasted on? This just happened recently. Before this, I could do it.

So, the second method does link the graph to data in Excel sheet ?? Right . Its terrible when you change the data in Excel it automatically change the graph in PowerPoint

Can you insert data from an excel spreadsheet (that includes comments in particular cells) into a powerpoint presentation so anyone who views the presentation can hover over the cells and review the comments?

When I close the excel workbook from which I have copied chart, choosing the option of embedded excel sheet, the chart loses its data in power point.
Any solution

Is there a way to automatically update multiple charts in PPT *WITHOUT* linking the excel? All 30 charts use same source data. Help!
