Got my hands on the brand new 15in M2 MacBook Air and I wanted to fully compare it to the 13in M2 MacBook Air. They are relatively the same, but there are some key differences to take note of!

13” just looks better to me I prefer the proportions of the chassis, the distance between the keyboard and side of the case. Although the M1 is the best looking air, again just my preference

🐬 I love the small, light & super portable 13". It's a nice break from my work beast MBPro

This is all that I ever wanted, and I'm thrilled with the design.

🐬The midnight color is outstanding! The conversation about the fingerprints is exaggerated and so tired!

I will never go lower than 16GB of unified memory. Wish Apple would make 16GB of unified memory as the base configuration with the next step up at 24GB of unified memory.

I didn't think I would get a new MacBook Air so soon (got the M1 Air in early 2021 and was loving it) but I've always thought that the only thing I was "jealous" of from the 14 and 16 inch MacBooks was their screen sizes. When this 15 inch M2 Air came out, it was an unnecessary, but absolutely appreciated upgrade for me. Sold my M1 Air for $500 to a family member, got the education discount on the 15 inch, to equal this upgrade for a net cost of $700 USD. Been absolutely loving the bigger screen for content consumption and my graduate thesis work (statistical analyses, writing, etc) while still maintaining the absolute featherweight in my backpack. My last big laptop was a bulky Lenovo Windows PC that was 16 inches and that was SO heavy. The M1 Air felt revolutionary in my backpack at the time and somehow this 15 inch Air feels the same. I barely notice a weight increase!

Screen size and palm real estate is the only plus here. Anyone with large or greater than "average" hands will appreciate this comment and this MBAir.

I went from MacBook Air M1 with 16GB and 256GB storage to a new MacBook Air 15" 8 core/10 core GPU with 16GB with 512GB storage love the difference! Especially for an old guy's eyes!

I’ve always wanted a 15 inch MacBook so I’m so excited. There is now a 15 inch MacBook Air I don’t need to get a 15 inch MacBook Pro 😀 Next year, I’m going to be upgrading from the M1 MacBook Air space grey 512GB to the 15inch MacBook starlight 512GB 💻😀

Glad I got the Silver color, when I just got the 13.6 inch M2 MacBook Air with 16 gigs of ram memory, and 512 SSD storage, I kept the 8 core GPU. I'm a longtime Windows user since 1999 with Windows 98. My last Dell desktop had Windows 7 pro with 2T hard drive, cause I had a website, building my own web pages. This is my first laptop, and I love it, very user friendly. My personal opinion, the sound on the 15 inch is louder but, I don't think is sounds any better than the 13.6 inch Air.

Wow, an actual comparison. Have been watching videos where they spend 20 minutes going over useless information. Apprecaite it.

I think I'd rather buy the 13" which is super portable, and buy one of those usb c 15.6" external monitors for $100 which is also portable.

One thing that you didn’t test and that I saw on other reviews is that the 15 inch MacBook Air actually doesn’t heat up nearly as much as the 13 inch one so you actually get better performance because it’s processor doesn’t throttle very often. Another thing that you didn’t mention is that you get two extra GPU cores with the 15 inch one by default, which is actually some thing that would cost $100 more on the 13 inch one. Finally, I really hate it when people say that the MacBook Air M2 is for web browsing and email. It is not! An iPad mini can do that. An old Intel-based MacBook Air could do that. The M2 is a very powerful processor and it does handle tasks like video editing, photo editing, and programming really really well. And you can actually find many reviews of programmers who do use their M2 MacBook Air as their main machine and it works just fine. Yes, you probably do need to get 16 gigs of RAM, but that does not justify pushing the purchase of the MacBook Pro, which is way heavier and thicker, and, of course, quite a bit more expensive. The 15 inch MacBook Air with 16 gigs of ram is an extremely powerful machine that offers really good value for the money, and it’s a great machine regardless of whether you’re going to use it mostly at home or if you are on the go. The beauty is the flexibility of being able to do whatever you want from wherever you are.

You wrong you just paying 80 dollars extra for that extra screen because base 13 inch m2 comes only with 8core gpu but base 15inch come with 10 core plus you are get a fast charger for free

Love the color and am thinking of it but not sure if the fingerprints will bother me too much and im better off getting the space gray or silver

The Macs are getting cheaper and the phones getting more expensive, so much for Apple not interested in the Mac which was being touted by many industry commentators

Does the keyboard have the same “feel” as the iPad Pro Magic Keyboard?

I really need one of these as my old laptop I’ve been using has degraded a lot since 2020 and now it’s just unusable with how slow it is. I ran a Geekbench score and it scored lower than an intel MacBook and lower than a base model iPhone 15.
