Jumping off a 2019 MBAir, I traded it in and got $400 from Apple for it, towards a new computer. Went w/ the 2023 MBAir 15-inch w/ 16GB + 512GB and the total came out to like $1430...by the time the tax + shipping was involved, it was like $1550 or something. Felt like it was a good deal, so I did it.

I’m totally biased toward the 13”, but as you say, the extra speakers sound pretty nice. I have the M1 Air. The speakers are surprisingly good, but two more would be awesome. So maybe I’ll change my mind and go 15” for my next new machine.

Hi brother, Am planing to get my first MacBook
I ll use the MacBook Air for
1. Multiple tabs in browser - article reading and YouTube videos.
2. Content viewing.
3. Ppt preparation
3. Since am planing to get iPhone 15 pro, may be learn to do minor photo & video editing ( tour videos).
4. Occational Teleradiology ( viewing and very minor graphic processing 2D to volume rendering) _ bigger screen is better here.
5. Use my iPad as sidecar for reporting.
6. May connect a monitor in future.

With these uses, Since MacBook Air is well built am planing to use for atleast few years 5plus

Should I get 8 or 16 gb ram keeping in mind on the works and future proofing for macOS updates?
Can 256 gb do the job with external ssd?

Great video! Thank you. I actually traded in my MacBook Air M2 13” for the 15”. I use it a lot for school and could really benefit from the larger screen. Financially was it smart? Probably not lol since I only got about half of what I paid for it in trade in value 🙄

Apple's biggest problem is the strong US dollar. 1299 for 15" sounds cheap yeah, but that's in USA. But look beyond USA, the new 15" is not cheap. It's an - expensive - machine. It's all about the US dollar.

So in my eyes it - almost - doesn't matter what Apple announces. The US dollar is destroying the "fun party".

As I see it, the new MBA15 is attractive if you are fine with that 8/256 base model. In USA.

If you want 16 GB RAM and at least 512-1000 GB SSD then go for MacBook Pro 14".

I get more and more "PowerMac G4 Cube feeling" about Mac Studio. But this time Mac Pro's "little brother" got a better place because Mac Pro is crazy expensive. Back in 2000-2001 G4 Cube was not that cheap option because PowerMac G4's base model was really affordable.

My M2 MacBook Air is the best laptop I’ve ever had. The 13 is great for travel. If I’m at home, it’s hooked up to my monitor. The 15 is nice, but I’ll stick with my 13. especially since I only bought it 6 months ago lol
