Gotta love that Tim asked Nolan to switch channels but the entire gang just went “Ooh, hot gossip, I’m in”

I really liked the contractor side of Nolan. I think he should still do it on the side like they've been showing with him remodeling his home. I hope we still get to see that side of him. He's such a sweet character but very capable as a cop. The best of both worlds. The perfect personality to be a cop. Caring but competent.

"Why do you have a hammer, Officer Nolan? "
"Sorry grabbed the wrong tool belt."
Grey comes on the air like "Hey Nolan while I got you on the air, I need some recommendations on hardware for a deck I want to build"

I think Nolan is the best rookie character. He works hard and proves he earns his place in the LAPD despite his age, eventually he makes new friends in LA with his cop buddies and others and is just an all around great guy who is always willing to help everyone not just his brothers and sisters in blue. It’s amazing to see how Nolan changed his life for the better throughout the show

I like how 0:33 became just everyone fighting over Nolan

I was expecting Grey to jump in this radio conversation, like he did with a few.

This is one of those scenes that always reminds us Nolan has literally lived a full life before becoming a cop.

Literally one of my favorite lines of the whole series...
"Hey Nolan, do you do pergolas?! Because my outdoor space is really underused"
...say it twice a week😂😂

"I have built a gazebo or 2 back in the day"

I do love a man who's handy, handsome, and has his own handcuffs!

It's important for a man to have hobbies. Also, i now realize i am definitely the Nolan of my family 😅😅

And this is why I try not to tell people I worked in IT

How i like John Nolan in depth knowledge of his previous career as a Contractor comes in handy:
- Season 1, he founds out why would someone install a electrical fuse box near a water pipe, which is a ruse to store drugs and guns
- Season 2 he uses his previous contractor skill to renovate an old house he buy
- Season 4 he uses his contractor skill to find La Fiera compound plans in the real estate office and analyze it to find a weak point. Or use his skill to help his friends if anyone need to renovate or build something

As much as Nolan was being utilised, there’s an important lesson here. If you’re in need of advice and you have a friend or colleague who knows about that subject, don’t be afraid to ask and more importantly don’t forget to repay them for their time and effort. Regardless of what form it takes, it’s a symbolic gesture that matters.
I’m a car guy so I’m used to my friends asking me to come along when they’re looking at buying cars, and the most common thanks I get is they buy lunch. And that’s okay (gesture is the important thing). Until one girl that is: five hour round trip to look at a car she didn’t even leave a deposit on, no offer of thanks at any point, and she left me on a main road NEAR my home so she could get back quicker. Suffice to say once I told about this, nobody was in any rush to do her a favour again.

Nolan better get paid for these jobs! At least for materials.

Back in the day, we used to go to car-to-car all the time. We could talk to each other, but dispatch couldn't listen.
When we switched to digital radios we did it less, because it would cause problems in truncked systems. Plus cell phones were becoming common.

Something that I love of "The Rookie" are the group chats with radio.

Everyone wants a piece of contractor Nolan of what it needs to be done
