M-Audio Air 192-4 Audio Interface Review

In this video, I dive into the details of the M-Audio Air 192-4 audio interface. 🎧

🔥 Pros:

Solid Build Quality: The M-Audio Air 192-4 is sturdy and reliable, working seamlessly out of the box.

XLR Input and Main Outputs: Experience excellent audio quality with the XLR input and main outputs.

Ample Gain: The gain is sufficient for amplifying the Audio-Technica ATR2100x microphone.

🤔 Cons:

Tricky Gain Settings: Fine-tuning the gain can be challenging, especially between 9.5 and 10.

Direct Monitoring Control: While the direct monitoring knob is cool, it affects USB output gain. Separate controls would be better.

Outdated Driver Software: The software UI feels like Windows XP, and there’s limited control beyond sample rate and buffer settings. Plus, it resets to 48 kHz when using Spotify at 192 kHz.

👍 Conclusion: I recommend the M-Audio Air 192-4, especially if you find it on sale (I got mine for $90 on Amazon). However, if you prefer a smaller form factor and better software, consider the Focusrite Scarlett Solo Gen 4 (priced at $140).
