And one of them is under $60! Wow! And you can use this with Windows and Mac. These audio interfaces are the best selling and best quality for the price. Thanks for being someone who goes beyond the specs sheet and actually cares about what they SOUND like. It's really important to me trying to put together a minimal but hopefully great sounding set-up.

I like how you didn't just point out the sound, but also talked about the daily use of the knobs ands such. Thanks for sharing your input!

You did it again! I currently use my iRig keys IO 25 for my interface and I love the build of the M Audio 2x2 and went on the hunt for the 2x2m with the midi IO as well. The knob is everything!

Having engineered and produced many years ago, now wanting to get back to music with a small home studio, this was a GREAT overview. Thanks a lot!

Informative, easy-going, unpretentious, the time-stamps are highly appreciated to get to the bits one is interested in and, if that's not enough, he sounds like an American guy I once met in a bar in Hong Kong who told me he didn't want to always work his ass off, because he also wanted to have time to go to the beach. What more can you ask?

Nice overview on the interfaces. When my first gen Scarlett 6i6 stopped working, I ended up swapping it for the Zoom U-44 interface that I bought for mobile use. Turns out to be a good workhorse. There are gain levels for mics and instruments, and volume levels for monitors and headphones plus separate mute buttons for each volume level, I am considering stepping up to the UAD Apollo line in 2020, but now taking a really hard look at the MOTU M4 interface, which I’d like to see and read reviews on. As ever, thanks again!

I got a Behringer U-Phoria UMC204HD around 3 years ago for $80 from Amazon (basically a 2-channel mic input version of UM22). Works great with Live, Logic, Mac, or PC and supports 192k. I use a Focusrite Sapphire Pro 40 for main studio I/O. Both interfaces are not perfect, but very good.

Thanks! From the little bit of music and voice at the end, the NI, Steinberg and Focusrite definitely sounded the best (to my ears)

I really can't believe how concise and voluminous your information is. The video footage is VERY well done, the hands on shots pointing out features is very good--sometimes a bit out of focus, but definitely worth watching. Thanks for doing such a great job.

In the behringer, tascam guitar sample you can hear when the fret fingers leave the strings at the same volume than the strum, so the guitar was softly played in comparison of the other samples.

Before today I don't think I'd ever *heard* of an audio interface. Thanks to you, I can now shop around with a working knowledge of features I need. You're an excellent teacher, Sanjay! All the best to you!

I've got a Behringer up from this one, the UMC404, which has four combo mic/line inputs, each with an insert in the back. It's decent, and I actually used it for live sound at a few shows, so it's versatile. But there are annoying things about it. The inputs seem to clip at a ridiculously low level, and its main outs also feel weak (weaker than the playback outputs). The knobs feel OK but they're not intuitively placed.

I love your positive demeanor, your evenhanded reviewing style, and overall approach! Looking forward to more of your content.
