Rob from M-Audio gives us 5 reasons why you need one of their new AIR USB interfaces in your recording setup. Check out the range here...

The AIR series from M-Audio offer professional quality and features at an affordable price. Featuring a sturdy gun metal housing, these interfaces will look stylish in a studio, but are also robust enough for mobile recording. High quality crystal pre-amps ensure the best sound from your microphone or instrument, and the onboard 48v power means they're compatible with both dynamic and condenser microphones.

With 5 models in the range, there's an interface to suit everyones needs, from the simple Air USB hub model for users who don't need inputs, to the flagship Air 192-14, which features enough inputs and outputs to accommodate recording a band.

Each interface features direct monitoring with extremely low latency times, there's VU meters so you can keep your eye on input levels, and higher end models include additional auxiliary outputs and MIDI.

Take a quick look here with PMTVUK and check out the full range of M-Audio USB interfaces at your nearest Professional Music Technology...

I replaced Scarlett 2i2 3g with 192|14 because I wanted more inputs and outputs.
I decided to buy M-audio because I'm a Linux user and most important for me was:
1. Class-compilant - no drivers required in Linux, works out of the box!
2. Physical knobs and switches - no software required to control the features.

The only thing I'd change is the mic gain knobs behavior: most gain is placed between 9, 8 and 10 on the scale, setting correct gain level is a bit tricky. HNY!

I traded my Focusrite Scarlett for this and I'm loving the sound! Only deal is I sold the Focusrite because of a crackle in the 'volume' knob, but this too is also slightly crackling. Ugh!

A novice is not going to take this out of the box and get going. Whatever hardware and software they get, will come with a steep learning curve. Experienced people will probably have a more capable Audio Interface. I don't see how this product would have less latency that others. unless something is defective, they all have the same latency for the same buffer sizes. One will have more latency issues at their DAW, VST plugins and computer usually not related to the audio interface unless the product comes with funky drivers.

How are these better than the version from 3-4 ago, the M Audio 2X2 C Series? What did they change?

Hi, thanks for the video! I wonder if it is possible to control the volume level with apple keyboard. Many external audio interfaces has volume controls greyed out on MacOS. I wonder if that is the case for m-audio as well? Googled a bit but can't find something about it, would really appreciate if you could answer!

I picked up a 192/6 for VO and I'm learning as I go, and so far the interface seems to work okay, the only problem is it is apparently incompatible when being used in video conferencing, ZOOM etc... The mic stops working in the middle of a meeting and I have to unplug the interface and plug it back in to get it to work again.
I have talked with tech support and they've done their best to help but they don't know what the problem is or why it's happening.
I have used a focusrite 2i2 in meetings and this problem does not occur.
