Where would you want to live in Tennessee?

A small town in Tennessee is good for me, a quiet neighborhood, lots of sunshine, trees with beautiful flowers and landscapes with no over crowding, reasonable house prices and minimal traffic. 💐💯

I moved th East Tennessee in 2005 after I retired. My Vietnam hero was disabled from Agent Orange complications. We were about an hour from Johnson City and a great VA hospital. Being near the Smoky Mountains was thrilling. We loved the area and the people. It's a smaller community but has everything we needed.

Eastern TN is so gorgeous! Surprised more of those towns are not on your list. I could care less about the Memphis or Nashville areas. Considering relocating from Texas, no way you'd get me out of Texas for a middle TN town. We would want to be near those beautiful Smoky Mountains!

Grew up in Cleveland, (about 25 miles from Chattanooga) 1955-74.
Used to love going to Parksville Lake, Ocoee River, Chilhowee, McKamy Lake, etc.

I am loving Johnson City and the Tri-Cities area. It has all the amenities I would want but very little traffic. And nice mountain views:-) Of course, I’m from Georgia - lack of traffic makes me super happy!

I was born and raised in Tennessee, I still live in my small town, Springfield, in Robertson county in middle Tennessee next to the Kentucky border. I love Tennessee and could never leave, however, new influx of people from all over is destroying our way of life. Every available farm is being built over with houses on top of each other. We can no longer keep up the infrastructure to meet the demands. If you want to find a house to rent, forget it! House flipping has decimated the housing market. We do not have a state income tax which attracts many retirees but this entire mess will collapse before long. Salaries are much lower in Tennessee compared to many states like California or New York, also ultra and I mean ultra conservative everything. I’m glad that I am 63, retired with a pension, my home is paid off, and on Social Security or else I would be screwed

I currently live in the 3rd worse state in the union, Illinois. i plan to move to East TN when i retire, love the smokies and plan on working for the park service or volunteering. i just hope by the time i retire housing is affordable there or near there. i would never live in Nashville, traffic is horrible, Memphis, too much crime, but Chattanooga looks pretty inviting. thanks for the video!

As someone who grew up in Memphis area I can tell you the crime in Shelby County is growing. These are the last places you want to live. Everyone I know are doing what they can to get out of here. It is a crime haven area.

Yes get people to go to western and middle TN, we're being overrun in east TN. "It's so pretty" and "we like all the nature and wildlife" are the most common reasons I hear. Never mind that the more people that move here means the less nature and wildlife there will be to see and enjoy. And I would not mind the influx of people so much if they were not insistent on developing new land instead of buying existing homes and developed land.

Cookeville is the fastest-growing micropolitan area in the state and the seventh fastest-growing in the nation. Surrounded by lakes and parks, Cookeville is absolutely beautiful. We also have one of the best small universities in the country. Job growth outpaces the national average, and the cost of living is low.

Chattanooga has a very high crime rate poverty is high city leadership is bad. If I was mayor of Chattanooga it would be completely different it’s a smaller version of Memphis. Not a good city for raising a family or if you want to feel safe walking through the neighborhoods.

You literally look like the "trad girl wojak" meme, This is not a knock, rather compliment. Thanks for the video and concise info about some of the notable areas :)

I lived in Cookeville TN for 5 years from 2010-2015, great small city with a lot to offer. Just about an hour drive to Nashville or Knoxville. I only moved away to be closer to family.

I LOVE your take on #9, Chattanooga. I'm from South Nashville and I've spent almost every summer visiting Chattanooga... It's a beautiful city with so much nature, diversity, creativity and unique restaurant concepts. Love love love this video!

Also, I currently live in East Nashville (just outside of Downtown) and I am SUCH a fan. Really fun city for anyone who loves music, adventure, solid food scenes, and cool people!

We’ve lived in Memphis and Nashville and now live in Lebanon. Rural, small town warmth with surprising amenities and still convenient to Nashville.
