*Me trying to learn how to defend against my mom's slippers*

Edit: a year of training has passed. Tommorow, at dawn. I fight my mother. Mark my words. I will win this.

Edit: I lost. But this does not meet the end of me. I am now learning the ways of a long stick with a pointy edge, this might be my last update.

I love this. I really wanna learn sword-fighting, I always have. I've looked for classes over the years but they're all fencing and such. I'm looking for stuff like this.

I wish there was a awesome sword fighting class like this in the USA :(

I’ve been wanting to be thought in the ways of medieval sword fighting for the longest time but all the ones I find around here don’t know what they are doing and or haven’t picked up one in this life and try to act like it’s normal. I have a zweihander I’ve been really wanting to brake into but have no idea how my form and strikes should be.

Videos help but it’s not the same as real learning from people like this

ah, i bought a sword two years ago (i mostly bought it cause it came with throwing knives, i learned how to use those) and now that we're still in quarantine i finally gonna do something with it. I always keep it next to my bed but never learned how to use it. Thanks for this!

It's interesting how techniques develop because they're effective, watching this and he does the slight sidestep when he comes in reminded me of doing just that in Halo 3 Energy sword fights, no one else did it and I was always the best but I never really thought of why, it was just something I did that I found to be effective!

It's good that you guys are posting tutorials on here starting with the most basic information. Not everyone is already familiar with sword techniques.

I’m just starting this hobby myself but with it being this time of year and bad weather and not being able to afford the proper equipment right now I’m practicing using wood swords (for stances), blade and sorcery (for fun and trying realistic fighting styles) and when the weather isn’t raining I’m using a machete in the garden with some plastic bottles etc. Since I’m only doing it at home and laws in the UK are awkward with swords I take what I can get but I like this channel because not many people go through the full basics for beginners and when they do they try to make it super fancy and over the top but I like this. Simple, effective and most importantly shows you all you need to know and the attack is on display so you can see it properly executed
