How to fix Xbox 360 Red Dot Of Death [EASY]

I forgot to tell you how I resolved it definitively. Basically I opened the xbox 360, and with only the motherboard I cleaned it with alcohol and with a brush. With the brush I deeply cleaned all the components, using a little force with the brush under the cpu and various components. Then I took a very normal hair dryer and at most I aimed all the heat jet on the CPU for at least 15 minutes. Then for another 15 minutes I ran the hair dryer all over the back side of the motherboard (I recommend the hair dryer be as close to the motherboard as possible). After, I again spent 5/10 minutes the hair dryer on the front of the motherboard pointing all the components. Lastly, I passed again with ethyl alcohol in depth on the components.

Hi. Thanks for the video. It works because insulating the coolant with a cloth causes the processor temperature to rise. The purpose is to overheat the processor. The processor overheating is recommended for all electronic devices.

This is NOT a proper way of fixing it, You need to replace the XCGPU however, at the very least a reflow/reball will get it working for a much much longer rate for hopefully a few months possibly forever depending if its a cold solder joint or a faulty xcgpu. Unleaded solder melts at 218 degrees Celsius, heating it up with a towel can get it to like 60 degrees Celsius this is not hot enough to melt the balls all you did was make the balls stress and expand which is why it works for a little bit but a lot of consoles the issue is within the xcgpu NOT the solder balls.

Covering the console with a blanket isn't a good idea there are much more professional ways of fixing it

My 360 s got the red dot of death and it turned back on perfectly but the main problem is it deleted all of my data that was saved to the console can anyone help with this issue I think I can just copy the stuff on the Internal hard drive and then put it onto another internal hard drive but I’m still not to sure what to do please if anyone can help tell me
