Your Brain On Morphine

Morphine is a powerful opioid pain medication that is commonly used to treat moderate to severe pain. However, it can also have significant effects on the brain and the body.

We will take a closer look at how morphine works in the brain to reduce pain, as well as the potential side effects and risks associated with its use. We will also discuss the development of tolerance and addiction, and the challenges of withdrawal. Additionally, we will examine the long-term effects of morphine use on the brain, including its impact on memory, cognition, and brain chemistry.

It is important to note that while morphine can be a valuable tool for managing pain, it should always be used under the guidance and supervision of a medical professional. Misuse of morphine can lead to serious health consequences and addiction.

This video aims to provide a comprehensive and scientific understanding of the effects of morphine on the brain, to help individuals make informed decisions about its use.

As a user of opioids I can confirm that they are extremely addictive and almost impossible to get off of. Even if you want to gwt clean your going up against a monster that knows everything about you and knows exactly what to do to keep you on them.

Thank you for the information. I have a vomitting condition and the doctors give me this when I am having a bad stomach attack. It is the only relief I get from pain.

Psychedelics definitely have potential to deal with health issues like anxiety and depression, I would like to try them but it's hard to source them here

Ciggs are addictive and sold at gas stations. Opiates like morphine are non toxic and dont hurt organs. They relieve pain. This obession with addictiveness is hurting people in pain who benefit from pain relief

Opioids are extremely safe for chronic pain patients and not at all addictive for us.
Studies show this (Professor M. Fallon - University of Glasgow) and neuro plasticity is only really affected in regards to addicts as their brains change and actively seek the drugs for euphoric reasons as opposed to pain relief.
Opioids are extremely safe and pose no physical or mental risks for many pain sufferers.
Only continuous release can cause issues due to constantly overloading the brain, even when not needed which can lead to physical dependence which is not addiction at all.
I believe this form should be saved for pain that is at a stable and constant level, otherwise instant release are safe for chronic pain.

The worst part of withdrawal is the sweating, diarrhoea, and ferocious anxiety. You will evaluate and judge yourself for every wrong you have ever committed to the point where you hate yourself.

They looked forward to that moment with joy, but without haste, not pining for it, but seeming to have a foretaste of it in their hearts, of which they talked to one another. But when they looked at me with their sweet eyes full of love, when I felt that in their presence my heart, too, became as innocent and just as theirs, the feeling of the fullness of life took my breath away, and I worshipped them in silence. Their children were the children of all, for they all made up one family.

Dr Tony O'brien says, "Morphine is an incredibly easy drug to use, a very safe drug and it can really transform the lives of individuals. All of the best evidence suggests that it should be used by mouth where it can. It's an extraordinarily safe drug, it's an extraordinarily effective drug."

Zero addiction for me. I have no need for it unless in excruciating pain

Ya but if your in chronic pain it makes you happy because you get a temporary reprieve from the pain. You just have to literally control yourself. I was addicted bad back in my 20s but I kicked that shit myself.
I still do use it from time to time it’s just realizing it will become a problem if not watched very closely

I had morphine in the hospital after my surgery. I was waiting for more than an hour and it still did nothing. It didnt get me high or ease my pain at all.

The way you word things at the end makes it seem like only those who are mentally addicted get nausea vomiting and other withdrawal symptoms but also thise who are only dependant will get the same symptoms, its called a physical addiction. You can be unaware and not even be craving morphine but start puking and shaking

So are people experiencing something different than what they give you in the hospital? They gave me morphine in the ER and all it did for me was made me throw up all night. It didn’t even help with the pain for very long. I’m pretty sure they gave it to me several times that night and I was just nauseated and throwing up until the next day.

I'm currently on morphine after a bunion surgery, I think I took two pills the day of surgery, I barley ate, I threw it up if I did. It was horrible. I lowered the dosage and feel better now.
