How Do We Hear In 3D?

How does your brain differentiate where a sound is coming from in a three dimensional space? It's actually pretty crazy.

I thought mainly your brain figures out which ear the sound is louder in, not which ear heard it first. When I try to figure out where a sound is coming from, I think it sounds louder on one side than the other.

I like your videos, definitely.
Not to twist it with negativity, but I do find this girl's voice to be a little... overemphasized.
Then again, it is only my subjective opinion. She just drives me crazy with the exaggeration in her voice.
