I'm a florist. Flowers get a pass. They make everyone happy. Whether you order them from me or pick up a bouquet at Trader Joes. They simply make people happy. Earth's mystery and beauty in a vase. Nothing better.

I agree that quiet luxury has taken on a different meaning. I am in my 70’s and my business was interior design. I dressed in suits and dresses for many many years. I liked buying jackets that were finely lined, button holes that were are all finished, if you could turn the jacket inside out it would of be as fine as the outside. Dresses had all finished inside seams. I have silk dresses from the 70’s and those silk were true luxury. Even fine linens and fine cottons have been replaced. Too bad. Wearing luxurious fabrics gave me a great feeling. That is one of my luxuries still today but I have to shop my closet to find that quality. No matter what it is, you cannot beat quality no matter what item it is and it has nothing to do with logos.

People presumed my mom had more money than she did because of the way she dressed and I fought that style for a long time but have come to better understand that having clothing with a fit and cut that makes me feel good reflects in how others perceive me. That's quiet luxury to me. Feeling and looking good.

Couldn’t agree more! Flowers candles perfume and high quality skin care - such a luxury! And my rescue dogs- knowing I have given them a wonderful pampered life is a secret luxury I can enjoy 24/7

“Just dress how you dress” is so simple by logic but accurately direct to the point of - spoil yourself the way you want, focus on you, not with the intention of outdo others. I always like your perspective M.

As a painter a quiet luxury for me is purchasing art from local artists. Fragrance is becoming a big one too, I love using them depending on my mood to tell a story for the day. Also that lipstick you’re wearing looks incredible!

I’m totally with you! Being classy doesn’t equate upholding classism. I think in the age of social media, we as a society are forgetting what was just the “norm” of good dressing etiquette.

Mine is makeup, perfumes. I do have a story that is embarrassing. I was with some other women and one of them remarked about my makeup. When I told them what I was using they made a big deal out of how much it cost, and how they would never spend their money like that. Basically shaming me on spending so much and they would never do that. I was very embarrassed and I did feel ashamed. When I got home I went and looked at my makeup collection an came close to throwing it all away because of this. Then I remembered how much I loved playing with and testing new things and that fact that I work hard for my money and if that’s what I want to buy it’s no one’s business. I know this is off subject but when started talking about quite luxuries subject it reminded me of it. An those people who are treating quite luxury like it’s only for the wealthy are gonna give it a bad name. Everyone has a luxury item or items they buy that they consider a quiet luxury wealthy or not.

Eloquently put Michele! You hit what real quiet luxury is on the nail head. I enjoyed hearing about your quiet luxuries. It is fun to see what people really appreciate in life.

I think your take on quiet luxury is spot on Michele! We all have certain things that just give us joy really no matter our budgets. They are special to us, and make us feel good! That's exactly what it's about. I always love your insight and honesty. Wonderful video!❤❤

I may have a tea problem. 🤣🥳 after working for Chanel cosmetics, I’m aware of the difference between wanting to live abundantly and wanting to appear rich. Always love your POV.

I've also embraced my own version of quiet luxury as I've gotten older. I'm a teacher, so I'll probably never be able to afford designer clothing, but I have quit buying fast fashion. So now, instead of buying 10+ items each season that may only last a year or two, I only buy a couple pieces that are well-made in quality fabrics that will last. I have fewer clothes now, but they all make me feel good when I wear them. I saved my pennies and bought myself a beautiful cashmere cardigan and I put it on over comfy clothes every day after work. It's such a simple pleasure, but it instantly makes me feel indulgent and ready to relax.

I've been a sewist since I was 10 years old, i was trained in couture techniques. Something that is made well, thoughtfully sewn and fits like it was made for you is worth buying. I dont care whose name is on it or where it comes from, it just doesn't matter what you pay for it, some things are just that good!

Your "quiet luxury" style and way of thinking is awsome! Way more up my alley!

Everyone has a budget, to spend as you see fit. In the past several years, as I’ve gotten older, my clothing focus is on fewer, better quality pieces. And taking everything to be tailored. After that, I think there’s a wide spectrum in how people define luxury. I love indulging in luxury makeup.

I agree with you! I can’t afford many higher end items, but I do treasure my pearls, wonderful scents for my home, and flowers. One clothing brand that is timeless and more affordable is Eileen Fisher.

I consider my books to be my luxury. I have a kindle for travel but it doesn’t compare to how much I enjoy taking a physical book and a cup of coffee or tea and spending a couple hours just reading. I have to start picking up flowers at the grocery store. They really do so much for a space. ❤great take on quiet luxury.

I love kitchen tools and kitchen gadgets. I could spend several hundred pounds on a good Japanese handmade knife and thousands on good pans and woks. I love good ovens and frequently upgrade my coffee machines, blenders, and air fryers. I love to spoil myself with great kitchen experience.

There is a big difference about being a classy women like you and telling us you idea about quiet luxury and a tic toc creator who is trying to impress others because of their low self esteem. I agree on you ideas. Tea is so important to my peace of mind and calmness ❤❤❤❤❤
