Everyone seems to be obsessed with LOOKING elegant or classy without actually BEING elegant or classy. Underneath the "costume" they still speak and behave in trashy/classless ways.

I do believe that elegance is not about being well dressed, it goes deeper than that.

“Elegance is a tool to polish yourself up while keeping your quirks and imperfections”. I love this!!!

Elegance is all about being well-mannered, humble, kind, selfless, grateful and knowing who you are👍🏾Keep up the great work Anna!

The fact that you’re wearing a red dress is emblematic of your message: elegant dressing isn’t as rigid as the fully neutral palette promoted in quiet luxury. Love that you wore this to show us!

The problem with this trend is that people are not just dressing in a certain way, they are pretending to live a life they don't, pretending to be part of a society they do not belong to. And the worst part: some actually act snobbish and stuck up as if they were "high society" or "superior".

This "quiet luxury" trend is everything but quiet. TikTok has the power to ruin everything.

"elegance isn't just an aesthetic" - Thank you, Anna...elegance is a value, a culture...elegance is behavior, not simply a fashion choice. The fashion choice is an outcome of the values of "old money".

This video is so correct. It’s so unnecessarily boring. Black women look incredible in bright colors. The darker the skin the more color and even prints one can wear. Why waste that wearing khaki from head to toe? Style is better than “old money aesthetic”. Have some personality of your own. Life is too precious to waste it mimicking someone else’s life, or what you believe their life to be. Enjoy yours and live elegantly in your own way.

The problem with the aesthetic is that people copy it to be trendy when they don't have the substance to back it up. What I mean by this, is education, manners, and kindness. These are things that 20-year old trend copiers can never obtain without true work. The whole trend comes across as lazy and phony.

Yes, thank you for this message! Elegance is not just fashion but a mindset.

I appreciate how transparent you are in mentioning and demonstrating your past mistakes, Anna. It is a sign of maturity, which is an often over-looked characteristic of elegance. ❤

I agree with all your points Anna. I notice that this aesthetic is very typically European centric and doesn’t understand that the idea of elegance can differ from culture to culture for eg in South Asian communities bright colours are considered fashionable and many even prefer to wear bright yellows, reds, jewel tones and gold because it compliments our skin tone rather than beige or greys which tends to wash us out. A lot of affluent people in India do wear bright tones and these colours flatter us more and look far more stylish than the typical old money aesthetic colours. The idea of luxury and beauty is also largely dependent on culture too.

I truly believe elegance is exuded from how refined the person is, not just from how they’re dressed

People need to be more concerned with dressing CLASSY above all, regardless of costs or colors.

I truly believe elegance is an essence one carries.✨

It can’t be nailed down to fashion alone…it’s about being well read, speaking eloquently, having manners, being kind, generous and caring.
It’s about having grace for people in all walks of life and not looking down on people with gossip and petty talk.

Elegance is a beauty that goes beyond youth and affluence. 🌸

It's so thrilling to see the amount of growth Anna has gone through in the last 3 years of watching her videos. This was such a great video and I couldn't agree more with the points you raised.

I like how you mention how elegance is flexible because it is versatile and not a "one size fits all" formula. This was really informative and well said. I don't hate the trends but I also couldn't exactly put a finger on why I didn't like the trends either- but you perfectly voiced it Anna. Alongside that, the trends never show these women how to behave. Behaviour and mannerisms can completely change the image you try to put fourth.

Elegance is not a tend. It is a lifestyle. Trends come and go. This quiet luxury trend will drift off too.

No matter what, it is a beautiful style . You should keep promoting it . And for someone not very creative and who doesn’t have enough taste, it is totally ok to copy it. Much better than anything else. Classic never dies. Thank you for your work!

I'm an aspiring gentleman I've been recently overwhelmed by messages in the men's community for all this Old Money appearance emphasis. Thank you for helping me put all this into perspective.
