I think this discussion about “quiet luxury” can be philosophical. What is it really about? About specific brands? About consuming less and rewearing your pieces more? I personally buy pieces that last and are made of fine fabrics but I do get tired of wearing them. So I put them in the back of my closet and rotate them. For example, I have Ralph Lauren cashmere dresses, Helmut Lang pieces that fit me impeccably well (and I have had them for 9 years no less), Jil Sander, Bottega, to name a few. But… in the modern IG driven culture it’s hard to resist temptation to buy more and wear new. I resist the best I can by only buying the high quality pieces that I LOVE and can’t wait to wear again and again and again. And I make clothes to order as well. There is an atelier I work with. We come up with designs together and then they creates clothes to my measurements in fabrics we discuss beforehand. Those are hands down my favorites

Great video! I feel the quiet luxury is in danger of not being quiet though…

I went to a Loro Piana store and was pleasantly surprised by the customer service. Their associates warmly welcomed me and let me try on all their bags and they really wanted to sell me a bag. It was like night and day compared to the Hermes store... all was well, except the Loro Piana bucket style bag was even more expensive than Hermes 😰, and I wasn't wild about the color selection. I ended up getting a Picotin when I finally visited an Hermes store that wanted my business, and I am pleased. But the way I was treated well makes me want to visit Loro Piana again and do business when I recover financially. I might get the mini bale if they have any. They were just so kind. I wish all "classy" stores actually behaved with class and politeness, you know. THAT should be a "trend."

Your simple, yet descriptive, explanation of "Quiet Luxury", coupled with exhibits, is pefect.

Once everyone jumps onto the “quiet luxury” bandwagon, it won’t be quite so quiet anymore. I am old enough to remember carrying an Hermes Kelly in the eighties when hardly anyone carried it, knew about it or wanted it. Today, Hermes is the “loudest” status symbol brands out there!

I would LOVE to see a video on your daily/nighttime skin care routine, and what you eat in a day to stay slim.

Nothing beats a great pair of jeans, both for men and women Personally I liked the sweater....but if didn't have sequins. Just not a huge fan of them. While the sparkle is nice, they catch on everything. The cashere sweater you showed later was very nice :)

Hey great content as usual. I notice pretty much of the “quite luxury” pieces are geared towards temperate or colder climate. How about a video on quite luxury for the tropics - yes, places with perpetually humid and hot climate. Hello from Singapore.

Super insightful! I wonder if any of the British brands ever caught your attention, like knitwear from Johnston of Elgin or John Smedley? Curious to hear your take on some of the non French/Italian houses😊

I don't believe it has ever been about loud or quiet luxury. It's about how anyone carries themselves and how much they place the attention or the focus on a certain items they are wearing. It's about one wearing the clothes with style and dignity or having the clothes wearing them. Not everyone is equipped to carry luxury/non luxury/quiet or loud clothing in style.
The quiet luxury is not so quiet to people who know what it is and with social media almost everyone knows what everything is. :)

Most quiet luxury isn’t so quiet if you know where to look. Even LP is getting louder.

I like your take on this subject. Well i agree it shoudnt be a trend, but someone was very smart to make a trend. Its nothing but classic style, but that wouldnt sell would it? So they renamed it, and look what is happening, suddenly everyone is talking about it, like its something new😳🤪😂 and i am not going lie, it does influence. Even i do like aesthetics, i wasnt so into it, like looking for new brands. My favorites always were Chanel, Old Celine, Jill sanders, max mara, and to some extent RL collection. And if you take some pieces from older collections, lets say Chanel from 2000’s and last decade, i have pieces, that no logos, maybe have some cc on the buttons, or small insignia, or nothing at all. And since these pieces, from 5-15 + years old, if you follow the brand, you will know. Otherwise i dont think so. But i did checked out the row, and i do love it. So i invested in a few pieces😂 It also influenced me, to get some different jewelry. I was planning for VCA, but decided to get Mikimoto pearls in motion necklace. Have a blessed day🙏💗
