My previous job (a small "Christian" company) would buy us lunch once a week and play a sermon by Andy Stanley, who i had not heard of before, while we ate. After a few months I started to notice little things he would say that didn't sound quite right. I did some research and found some of the shocking things he's said. Finally one day, he blatantly took a Scripture out of context and I voiced my disagreement and provided the context and what the Scripture actually said. The room instantly united to dismiss my concern claiming he was speaking to a "less-churched" audience and made it sound like it wasn't a big deal. I wasn't really surprised because by that point, I had noticed several unethical actions of senior staff and the owners. Within a month, I was dismissed from working there. Within three months, the only other guy at the company i would confidently affirm to be a brother was also dismissed.

I tell this story to illustrate we're at a point where truth is resented, even by those who claim to be our brothers and sisters in faith.

And the Bible warns...
"For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears; And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables."

The biggest concern is that not only are so many false teachers ariseing but now that they are increasingly tolerated and even embraced.

My Church is growing and it teaches the bible verse by verse, chapter by chapter, book by book . When people hear the Word. They realize what they have been missing.

Amen Brother Brylan, thank you also for sharing this, too. Andy has been deceived, following that deception by deceiving others in the midst also. Praying for all those who have been deceived by these kinds of teachings outside of the Holy Scriptures, that our Lord will help open their eyes to see and ears to hear the truth as it is written in the Holy Scriptures and come to the real teachings of real sound doctrine and the real Gospel as well, repent and come to the real Lord Jesus Christ from the real holy scriptures written about Him, for forgiveness and mercy, not man. Amen.

I use to watch his Father on TV. I learned a lot about the Word and the way he presented it, had such a calming effect on me. Andy, talks way to fact and had jerky movements, not relaxing. The first time I saw Andy, was a few months after he took his Father's place. I was shocked! I know he was brought up the right way. But there is Blasphemy coming out of his mouth. What his Father must think, I know he's praying for him to come around and I hope he does. I feel sorry for the Congregation that use to be there. I pray they all found a new home.
