Classic Era needs fresh realms with gdkp banned-

A TBC classic server with an option to transfer(or clone) a character from era with a goldcap of 1k. This will give people that nostalgic experience of progressing their character 60-70 in Outland and reliving the raids in phases. No Joyous Journey exp buffs or 58 boosts.

Also every version of the game they open will be tainted by RMT as long as they don't ban people trading gold between the various versions of the game (trading wrath gold for sod gold etc). That means as long as any version of the game has the token RMT will be in EVERY version.

I remember a couple years back I got the itch to level in classic again. By then he prices in the AH were so out of control that I funded my epic mount before I even dinged 60 without even trying.

People have so much gold at this point they will drop insane amounts for even the most trivial stuff and that was before the WoW token.

Really thing there should be a fresh server option about once a year to keep things a bit more under control.

Back in 2019 i wanted to live that vanilla experience i never had, at the time i couldn't play.. then tbc launched i found time to hit max level on 2 char just before wotlk launched. I quit after a few weeks of naxx, the community is begging for that retail shit all time even in classic. Some months after i started fresh on era and it was a blast as more and more people would come, found a guild and as we were cleaning the content week after week, that same BS started again with boosts and gdkps spamming, gold buyers, and botting.. i was playing some nights per week at this point having a great time with my 2 char and i left era since 1 year, impossible to keep up with the economy if you don't buy gold or farm 24/7 /boosting in SM .. its implayable really. I tried sod but yeah ..

Someone else said it first, but i was thinking why dont they just do a rotating 2-3 year cycle of classic > tbc > wrath, then go again. Surely there is an audience who would want that.

I'm not really sure what release schedule would be best, but I think it'd be a decent idea for ppl who want to play classic and tbc on a normal server again.

the econ on era has been screwed from the get go, not many people remember but back in phase 1 2019 you could abuse layers whine in an instance to be layered over to a fresh instance, so what people did would clear strat live all the way up to ball(DW flask boss) kill him, see if the flask dropped, then just get hopped over to another layer with them sitting in the room with a freshly spawnned boss, they did this for weeks farming flask bosses and blzz never did any thing about it and people seem to forget about it all the time, the econ was fucked from day 1 on classic

Agreed, they should relaunch the trilogy every time a new " step in the trilogy " launches. So now launch vanilla fresh, when that moves to tbc, launch another vanilla fresh, when the first one moves from tbc to wotlk and the second one moves to tbc, launch a fresh vanilla. This way every version will always be available. Also have an era tbc, wotlk and vanilla so u can save ur characters this way.

in era PVE servers there is no GDKP and Raiding guilds are very active. Economy is different than a fresh server ofcourse. Having so much fun in Era these days actually.

@5:20 classic era is for me. I was sold when they said I could no life it for bis and it would stay up forever. I am set and good forever. It feels so good to know my progress will never be reset with a new expansion or patch.
Microactivblizz said classic era would be a time capsule and stay like that forever. That is what I wanted. I do not want fresh, or anything. I no lifed it when it was live and now I have a few chars in bis which allows me to log in and raid/pvp just for the fun of raiding/pvp'ing. I was never a big fan of the rat race "progression" as you said.
I love vanilla but I also love vanilla+ and I have turtlewow and soon wallcraft for that.

Warmane is the only private server where GDKP doesn't exist and it's so refreshing. Current vanilla server is willing into TBC and ending in wotlk. It's for a great player base(toxic) for numbers, great economy, and no gdkp. It's very causal friendly and FREE!! People can donate to get an advantage but that's such a small percentage it isn't noticeable. Give it a shot! Private servers are actually good and Warmane has been around for 10+ years. 1000's of FREE gaming hours.

While Classic's economy has hyper inflated, the common complaint to say it's broken like you can't interact with it is wrong imo. If you started fresh from level 1 and went to 60 with gathering professions you'd make so much gold. On one hand produced goods are super expensive but on the other hand easily gathered raw mats are also expensive. You'd be able to afford bags, spells, mounts, etc. Then once at 60 there's plenty of guilds that exist outside of the GDKP environment to raid and PvP with.

With that being said it's overdue for a Classic Era fresh. And Blizz absolutely should be leaving Era servers up for every expac that Classic launches.

for those of you who don't know, when one part of the economy scales it scales across the entire board.
you can complain about prices but the only thing that's actually affected are raw gold sinks such as vendor prices, talent respecs, mounts, and on the rare occasion, those quests that want your gold. because gold is so easy to farm that mount is actually not so notoriously expensive as it used to be say at the launch of classic.

it's no good at looking at a few things the auction house and shouting "absurd prices!" without first taking into consideration the fact that a stack of peacebloom can also be sold for 40g. in many ways it feels like boes are easier to get than ever and that's without ever participating in a gdkp just as i haven't, or RMT. now if you wanted to complain about how easy it is to buy those same boes you're complaining about then i'd think you'd have a much stronger point there.

one of the positives i'd say is that this shift in economy has opened up new fun and unexplored avenues to farm gold. for example, on my lock i clear every pack in dire maul east for boes, runes and felcloth while farming herbs. it's refreshing from the usual meta of killing the bosses to vendor the boss loot (which i don't usually kill anymore).
