Just picked up my MYLR on Friday after 7.5months waiting. First EV. Great car so far. I've read online that the high pitch wine is usually a poorly installed perimeter seal allowing the noise to enter the cabin. Many have had Tesla replace or reseat the seal and sound goes away. They have to drop the floor to do it. FWIW my car has no such sound.

That trim stain happens even if you hand wash.

Haven't run into the other stuff you mentioned and coming up on one year myself.

The motor whine is BS and they should fix that. No whine in mine.

Also no cell issues here. You got a lemon.

Frunk is great for my first aid, emergency roadside kit, chains, etc.

You should mention that the hum isn’t in all model y’s, mine doesn’t have it, also, the discoloration of trim can be wiped away

It's important that people watching this video do not believe that your experiences will happen to them. I've been in a number of Tesla Model 3s and Ys, and their motors do NOT whine. Tesla should have fixed yours under warranty. The windows on other Model Ys do NOT normally pop down when you hit a bump, and again, Tesla should have repaired yours for free under warranty.

Hey man! I have the same MY you do. Same motor whine, window issues etc. The cellular is a bad connectivity card. Mine did the same thing yours did until it just stopped working entirely. The tech who came out and replaced it mentioned he has seen quite a few model Ys with failing connectivity cards recently.

The whine I was told was not normal by service. they replaced my parameter seal (didn’t fix the whine) then they told me it was actually normal after the repair was not successful. The issue seems to have surfaced in 2021. I have driven a few newer model Ys and the owners don’t hear the whine but sure enough I get in the car and can hear it right away. I don’t know if I’m just sensitive to that frequency or what 😂

I'm at 8 months and 20k miles on my Y. I've had 3 issues. 1 headlight LED strip has stopped working. A led in the rear turn signal is burnt out. The steering wheel cover has lifted at the 9 o'clock position.

One cost that’s worth mentioning is the registration. It super expensive out here in WA, lots of additional fees for the additional weight, and replacement for gas tax etc.

Just watched a video today from Lockett Tech about the discoloring on the window trim. Easy fix with a cloth and some WD-40. Did it to my Y in less than 5 min. Looks great again.

I love my Model Y, however you didn't mention the increased insurance cost vs an ice car. I recently switched to Tesla Insurance and the driving score has really changed my driving habits as I try to optimize the best rate through Tesla.

I have a 2021 and it’s quiet BUT I drove an early MY2022 (prior to interior refresh) Y for a week while mine waited for the new repeater cameras ($347 and not covered by warranty - Tesla REFUSED) and the whine was definitely MUCH more noticeable.

Stainless steel cleaner takes the rainbow color off the trim. It’s not discolored, but a film.

My hatch gets “stuck” too. No idea why. The car is immaculate at all times.

For your trim easy fix just keep wax on them by hand no buffing

Interesting - you are the first person to mention the motor whine. It would be irritating, to say the least!
