Suddenly I've found myself in the position where I have to tackle this same job in my own bathroom. Been pondering for a week and frantically watching you tube videos of people doing this exact project I'm pretty handy with a saw, hammer and the various other tools ....but it's by far the biggest project, carpentry-wise, in my 62 years. Video by video, I slowly was working my way toward having the gumption to jump into this then I stumbled upon this particular video !!! You've answered every question I had and have no doubt pushed me to the starting line I'm diving in this weekend ! Thanks so much for sharing your knowledge. This was just what I needed. Am working on rotted flooring (about a 2' x 2 1/2' section) in a 1974 mobile home bathroom. Just started carefully tearing up the floor under the toilet and was shocked at how close two water pipes had been run right under the particle board. Had set my 3" circular saw at 3/4" depth to do a shallow cut first to remove the damaged part or I would have been in a heap of trouble..lol. At least I knew kind of what to expect and what I'd need to tackle the project. Just a DIY homeowner who really appreciates your taking the time to bring us along for on-the-job training with you. Nice Job!!

I recently bought a mobile home and found that I had a few repairs to do. I started with the kitchen countertops and found out that the subflooring was rotten. I'm glad that you posted a video of this. It allowed me to compare what I did with someone else's work. Now I have to choose a flooring type for the kitchen and living room.

I really do appreciate this ‘raw’ footage. The shorter videos are nice when you’re in a pinch for time but videos like this one really are what teach you the most about repair work.
Edit: Also, there’s something special about using a corded drill, there just ain’t nothing like it.

Very impressive work on securing the subfloor. Also, glad you didn't replace that particle board with more particle board but, instead plywood. Can't believe they used particle board as a subfloor.

That subfloor install was a nice skill fore to add to my repairs. I've been setting 2x6 or 2x4 boards all the way around but your technique seems more stable. Also appreciate how you showed us how to get vet under the walls

Very informative video. Just want to recommend to other viewers to wear a dust mask! I finished doing this and had a bad reaction I assume from the mold that was attached to the flooring. Not to mention the dust and other crap that hasn't been exposed since the floor was put in.
