We're back on our (least) favorite project: the Camper! We did the main floor in the camper, but it's time to clean up the slider floor to prep for winter.

You've still got rot & mold inside of that short-wall (probably both ends), at least 6-8" high across the bottom, which means you also have rot on the wall plates...which will spread over into your "new" floor within a couple of years. That entire corner joint is rotted about 3' ft high from the floor...This includes framing, as well as the Luan plywood, which your finished side is laminated to. If there are any buckles in the exterior surface, that is another indication of that surface being rotted & moldy also...de-laminated, at the minimum. Even pressure treated wood will de-laminate & swell, if the edges get wet for a prolonged period of time. The long back wall looks like it may have some issues, also. When you redo the floor again (next time)...It's worth spending the time to remove the rust on the steel supports (especially where the two surfaces join), then prime & paint, because rust scale will eventually lead to a much greater expense & a possible safety issue.

Nice video but you didn't explain or show how you attached the first layer of flooring. Did you screw the first board in somehow? Thanks in advance.

Ah man I wish you guys would have filmed putting the board in. How did you connect thr board together so they don't fall in between ? The inner most part of the slide out has a slide angle to it as it goes under and out from the wall. How was that fitting it in there?

Hi guys! Nice fix. Just out of curiosity, how old was the camper when you purchased it? Since we’re also planning on going the camper route after we get the land purchase settled, watching you do these fixes has given us some insight on what to look for when buying the camper.

Looking forward to more of the house build!

Those wood to metal screws are HARD to find at Home Depot.

How did y’all find that hidden screw in the old slide board? & where was it? Replacing ours as we speak.

Question, did you glue the two together because I see where you put the glue down but when you’re carrying the new sheet in that goes on top, you don’t see any glue on the floor anymore

I have the same thing but seems to be a how on the inside not on the actual slide. Do I just remove the bottom to check first ?
