It's not even a body image issue. It's a health issue

I agree. Body positivity means "be happy in your own skin, " not "be happy that you're 500 pounds."

Body positivity hasn't gone too FAR...
It's gone too WIDE!

“My healthy body has been outcast because someone else needs to feel validated in their Twinkie addiction.” She couldn’t have said it any better 😂😂😂.

It's the whole "being completely unhealthy and promoting it to make yourself feel better" mindset that gets to me. People shouldn't be 300 pounds

When we say we want curvy women we don't mean spherical

Not to mention - most importantly - “body positivity” is telling people that it’s bad to be healthy. It’s telling people that it’s good to do things that are bad for their health. Images of healthy, attractive people are not a “standard”, they are a goal that everyone should aspire to, because it means you live longer and have a higher quality of life. Having an ideal of health is a good thing.

The vanity sizing has been creeping up for decades. But definitely a problem in so many ways these days!

As a larger person who has lost over 250 pounds and about 40 pounds to go from my goal body positivity is dangerous we must get to a healthy weights being over sized should not be glorified

Amen! Not only is it a vanity issue, it's a health issue. There is no such thing as "healthy at any size" You can't FEEL your way to health. Eat an apple, go for a walk, Mayne a jog! You will feel better and might actually live longer.

As a man I hate shopping online. Im a slim fit large, but sometimes my shirts are medium or XL. And they all fit the same on me😐

Welcome to the club!! I am a medium size with a very small waist and large hips. Getting any kind of pants is a struggle. Body positivity was supposed to be about BOTH of us (and more!) finding clothes that are suited to us but...yeah, guess it didn't work as intended...

The thing that should give an warning about 'body positivity' movement is...if they refuse fat men, then it is NOT about fat people.

It is about FAT WOMEN.

Body positivity was born and should be strictly related to stuff out of your control. For example losing your hair, missing a limb, be too short, etc...

It's absolutely insane how it's used to justify unhealthy or outright life threatening habits and lifestyles.

But this is what happens when you allow people's feelings instead of speaking the harsh truth to them.

This is true for men. I’m muscular and have broad shoulders and I cannot find a sport coat or suit that doesn’t fit like a straight jacket. The ones that do fit my shoulders and arms look like a bedsheet around my waist

The fact women need to be lied to about the size of their own body to feel better about themselves is wild to me. It is so easy to buy pants for men because we know how a 34x32 is going to fit before we ever put it on.
