This is the best video I've watched. Not too much talking; just enough info and a demonstration on an actual patient. Thank you!

That was awesome. I liked the fact that there was someone there to receive the IV instead of you just explaining steps on how it's done.

Out of all the IV demo videos on Youtube, this is the one I return to for review.

been a nurse 9 years, never worked for a facility that does subq lidocaine before a PIV start...also I've been taught to look for blood return prior to flushing. Good technique tho! and a great teacher:) 👍🏽

Good technique even though I have never seen lidocaine given by injection prior to this procedure. I have only ever seen it used topically for children prior the insertion of an IV.

This is exactly what I was looking for. There are way too many videos that educate the viewer about the process and EVERYTHING surrounding it. I just needed a quick refresher! Thannnnk

Thanks for the demo and good explanation on what supplies to get and what to say to your patient so you don't look dumb!  Practice makes perfect and this is helpful to play a few times over!

I'm a nurse. I must say I love the lidocaine before an IV it makes it a breeze. I had it done before a surgery and felt 0 pain. Wish everyone did the lido.

I'm strongly considering becoming a radiologist, but imagining myself being calm and professional while initiating this process... That makes my ears ring.
How do I condition myself to relax, even subconsciously?

I have sickle cell disease so I have a port because I don't have any veins. I don't like IVs because when the meds get pushed in, it blows the vein.

I had a nurse who simply would not simply use my port so she found out the hard way that I have a port for reason.

I've never heard of lidocaine being used though. I guess you learn something new everyday.
