I once stayed in a homeless shelter that was infested with these things. After trying to sleep for 2 days and not being able too I got the shits and then spent the next 5 hours pulling apart the entire room. I didn’t have much except clothes and toiletries so I wasn’t sure how I’d get rid of them. A whole tube of toothpaste ended up killing almost 100 of them. If you cover them in toothpaste over their entire body like a blob they get stuck and breath in the fluoride and choke on the toothpaste.
It still sets off my PTSD.

For people who don't know, you realistically can't avoid bed bugs because they're drawn to the C02 released by organisms whenever we breathe in oxygen so the most effective way to kill them is by making c02 bed bug traps, if you don't do that then you'll just have to get rid of everything they can live in (books near bed, paper, wood dressers, etc) and then sanitize everything with rubbing alcohol which kills them on contact, after that. Spray your floors, wall crevices, doors etc with alcohol as well. I've been fighting these hell spawn for years. Good luck

Bed bugs turned me into a better person, I started cleaning everyday with no hesitation. I saw a spider the other day and said "thank god it's a spider'". I realized I don't need iowaska to change, I needed bed bugs. I now have a family of bed bugs that i'm training to spread awareness on bed bugs.

You’re wild man, a buddy of mine had bedbugs and didn’t tell anyone, leading to me and another friend’s houses overrun. You’ll see one one day, hundreds not much later, and thousands appear before you can even attempt extermination. A lot of them are chemical resistant now too, so they have to be baked to death.

Lived with my mom and her former boyfriend, but generally I've dealt with these for a total of 9 years and unfortunately I found 2 babies ones in a couch on my current home because my mother refuses to throw away that couch before our problem gets worse- but before some couch hopper (not being rude it's really what she was) brought them here, we literally just moved somewhere else, that's how we got rid of them, but the guy who lived in that house dosent have a horribly bad problem anymore bc he just kept bombing and spraying his house

Bedbugs Smell So Gross, I Can't Stand Them 😭

Bed bugs gave me horrible fucking PTSD with them. Anything that smells like them sets me off, and every time I get itchy I get so paranoid it feels like they're everywhere. I had them for over a year because my parents and roommates kept buying Walmart treatments that didn't work, and they came with me and my mom after we moved out and didn't leave until our 4th move.

Same thing with lice, it's horrible. Had it for a year because my mom neglected to treat it and on top of the trauma it was horribly embarrassing to keep getting sent home after lice checks to never have it fixed by the time I come back.

Sleeping in a hotel in Dubuque Iowa in 1980 I felt something wiggle under my back. I reached under and got the critter between thumb and forefinger. It was obliging. I hurled it.. My only experience with these bugs.
