Malaysia Airlines has confirmed that after inspections, one of its Airbus A350-900s encountered engine issues; however, it rectified the problem quickly. Meanwhile, Air Belgium's future is at significant risk. It has two weeks to source an investor worth tens of millions, or it will go bankrupt. Lastly, Lufthansa Cargo has committed to investing 600 million euros to make Frankfurt Airport one of the best airports in the world for freight handling as the 2030s arrive.

A few folk mistakenly saying the A350 issue is a RR problem, not an Airbus one. Not quite. These engines are so closely integrated into airframes and systems, that it’s not possible to have the engine maker take full responsibility for the installation. The RR Trent fitted is specifically designed for the A350, in collab with Airbus. The fuel lines that are at the centre of the issue may well be an airframer system, supplying fuel to the firewall. Even if they are interior engine lines, they will have been signed off by airbus. It’s the same with engine issues on Boeing products. As a side issue, this high level of engine/airframe integration is why you can’t just swap out another manufacturer’s engine. They don’t “just bolt on”.

Would Airbus and GE have a contraction of just snap in the General Electric GEnx Engines for the A350 in the future? Those engines hadn’t had issues for a while and they are more fuel efficient and reliable. If I were to guess, maybe in 2026-2030 we’ll be the first ones to arrive with with GE Powerplants.

Please; no more A350 engine problems unless there is some new and significant developments; and its not an A350 problem rather a Rolls Royce problem.

You have managed to eek out this problem with one engine type for over a week. It's not as big a deal as you make it out to be. For Christs sake stop going on about it, you are getting boring. (satire)

I will never understand why you would start up an airline without a clear strategic plan, that to me is Air Belgium . On the surface a Swan but underneath paddling in all different directions, shame to see any airline collapse .
