AWS Amplify vs GCP Firebase | How does Google compare to Amazon?
Показать описание
Both are showing promising trends of being the future of web development
I have made some videos on AWS Amplify
I have not made a video on firebase though, so quadruple click that like button for cool new content and technology trends
similarities
Both Amplify and Firebase provide tools to developers to build applications with ease that are powered by the cloud
⦁ Amplify is powered by Amazon's AWS
⦁ Firebase is powered by Google's GCP
both provide realtime features
⦁ People want to see things in realtime nowadays. They don't want to sign up for something and then wait a day for a confirmation email. They want to see it immediately
⦁ AWS Amplify can use Amazon Dynamo DB or AWS App Sync for these realtime features
⦁ App Sync - provides ability to build applications that can scale, and gives real-time updates for mobile and web
⦁ App Sync can also provide access to some data when the device goes offline
⦁ This is useful when the Great flood starts to happen and there is nothing left but my boat - no power - App Sync can also make data go to its right place when the device goes back online. But in the great flood, that won't happen
⦁ Everyone knows about DynamoDB, I have made some videos on it. It is the cool and hip NoSQL that is blazingly fast
⦁ Firestore can also provide offline access through the Cloud Firestore, which is what it uses for realtime access
Both provide access to Authentication
⦁ AWS Amplify uses Amazon Cognito for authentication
⦁ This allows you to use social media providers like Facebook, Google, Microsoft and Amazon to login
⦁ Firebase will allow you to authenticate with Firebase Authentication - real creative naming on Google's part. It allows all those social media providers I mentioned for AWS Amplify, but it is even more powerful since it includes logins like Twitter, Github
Both provide access to Machine Learning
⦁ Both Amplify and Firebase also offer develops the chance to utilize Machine Learning services like AWS Recognition and the ML Kit for for Firebase
differences
AWS Amplify supports GraphQL, another up and coming framework for backend development
⦁ GraphQL is cool because it allows you to setup a schema for what kind of data you are expecting to send
Firebase tends to cost more since Google isn't as big in Cloud as Amazon is
⦁ If you have millions of users AWS Amplify might be better suited
AWS Amplify tends to have a higher learning curve than Firebase
⦁ If you are looking to get something up and running quick Firebase might be better suited for you
⦁ Because of this Firebase is also suited towards smaller, tightnit teams
In conclusion your honor I believe both of these can be fine solutions for whatever projects you want to use them for building out applications
