Splatoon is almost as big as pokemon in Japan. It wouldn't be unrealistic if that would be the main reason why they want gyro controls on all controllers moving forward.

Can you imagine a kid or parent buying a new controller and then not being able to play a first party nintendo title without going into settings and turning off gyro controls just so they can move the camera up and down?

I don't think Nintendo can, though. Nor can gamers and youtubers who have been talking about the Switch 2 for 4 years now!
Let's be real here, rushing the hardware would be releasing it 2 years ago, at this point I think they have everything figured out and waiting longer would just date the console instead.

The fact that Gyro will be required on even Third Party controllers means Nintendo's next system is going to lean heavily on Gyro Controls, which I hope means a vastly improved control system and maybe the possibility of them making controllers that feel like VR controllers

My main concern is that they address the joystick drift issue. It's really disheartening to have to calibrate and swab the joysticks every single time I want to play on my Switch and it's not something that we should have to do. We pay good money for these consoles so Nintendo should stop cheaping out and cutting corners.

That game they showed at Gamescom doesn’t exactly look like it’ll set the world on fire, at best.
