Two US astronauts launched on June 5 aboard a new spaceship scheduled to return a week later but are still in space after 36 days.

Veteran NASA astronauts Barry "Butch" Wilmore and Sunita "Suni" Williams have been aboard the Boeing Starliner, which encountered issues during last month's launch and flight, including thruster malfunctions and helium leaks.

The Boeing Starliner, developed in partnership with NASA, aims to transport astronauts to and from the Space Station.

According to NASA, there is no set return date, and it appears Williams and Wilmore might spend the summer at the International Space Station while scientists and engineers address the issues and conduct additional testing.

Update: NASA is now delaying Butch and Suni's return to earth until February 2025.

I love how she's probably in the middle of a date or some kind of important event and she's still keeping us updated. Dedication.

I wonder how the astronauts are keeping themselves busy through the wait. Does this also count as overtime pay?

Boeing is really unreliable these days, not only with planes, but also in Aerospace.

It's scary how a mistake in a calculation or one error can cause such fatality.

You seem like you are on a date. And yet you somehow chose to make educational short videos instead 😂. You should really enjoy your vacation and be in the moment but you do you vt.physics, I respect the dedication. Whoever you're with is a lucky guy/gal unless theyre getting ignored during a date for a youtube video.

I am worried about their food/water/oxygen supplies.

They're not stranded it's an intentional delay to figure out why things failed, I think they recently did a practice for an evacuation and the starliner was able to undock, move away, then redock, they can come home at any time it's just to test why things failed

Imagine stranded in space in a 'docking capsule'?? For months in space.. all the pee and poop is gonna make that small space smell..
