After watching, I immediately ordered from ITead and it was finally delivered after about a month! I also picked up a variety of sensors as I have zero zigbee devices but I'm sick of the fragile and inconsistent z-wave integrations (errrr z-wave in general) with HomeAssistant. This video, along with the blog post (added some clarity that I needed) were great!

The Zigbee temp/humidity sensor is working great and the range seems great; reaches my master bath from my network closet which is about 80 ft & 3 walls + 1 brick wall.

My flashing process was a little finicky but overall smooth -- the USB to TTL device I had acted up after trying to take a backup of existing firmware via Tasmotizer.... but after unplugging it it started working again.

Tip 1: I found some different cable sets on Amazon that included male-to-femaile as well as male-to-male wires in one set. This let me use a breadboard for joingin the grounds together instead of mucking with the way that is presented on the video.

Tip2: BUT, these wires did not fit in the holes of the Sonoff Zigbee pcb nearly as easily as shown in the video. IN fact they didn't fit at all initially. But upon close inspection I could see that the male ends of the wire are folded over (not solit) so by squeezing them with pliers, to deform them, I was able to get them small enough to wedge into the PCB with a pretty solid connection and flashing went smoothly after that!

I bought this wire kit:

"Don't bump it. Just sit still" - underrated advice.

Great video, thanks for the help on discord the other day. Mine is running very nicely. Some issues picking up a couple of sensors I had stuck around. Resolved those by plugging the bridge into a battery pack and bringing the sensor to the sensor (I’d stuck them down) .

That is AWESOME. I think I'm ready to jump into Zigbee. I was on the fence and really love the available Zioami/Aquara stuff, but entry price with the hub kept me away. I have some shopping to do lol. Oh the zigbee!

really dig the quick flashes of overview of what will happen during the video at the start. More people should do that!

Ordered a Zigbee bridge today and some sensors, Youtube later recommended this video (coincidence?)
Great video as always.

thank you very much for this tutorial. After I have bricked already 2 of them I succeeded with the 3rd. Now I feel I am just at the beginning of the road.

Thanks a lot! Your guide was prefect. Have Mijia/Aqara sensors and Sonoff S31ZB Plugs up and running in my ZB network.

Another great video, thank you. My Sonoff zb bridge is now setup, currently it has only the one temperature sensor, but you gotta start somewhere.

Jus followed the guide, note to self follow all the instructions next time and don't miss anything. Got Zigbee and my first device setup, a Aquara Presence detector.

Thanks for another really useful video. Had to wait a while to get my bridge from itead and also ordered door sw, movement and temp sensors.
Took me about an hour to flash etc, but then I did solder the ftdi leads first.
The Sonoff sensors added really easily, but an Aqara temp/humidity/air pressure sensor took many attempts before adding. I almost gave up with it after around fifteen goes.
After pressing its pairing button for 5s and letting go, it flashes once if not paired and three quick ones when it works.

Followed this video yesterday, 06/01/22 and still relevant.

Just thought I'd stop by & say thank you. Got mine flashed easy enough. Xiaomi aqara devices give me a hard time pairing. Can't wait for the upcoming releases & support.

Working better than the the aqara gateway. Though it has been working for years, just every now and then lost signal with 1 motion sensor... Sonoff zigbee Bridge is running perfectly.
