Beginner DJ Tip - Active Loops

What’s crazy is how people really hate on the idea of what the DJ basically is and does now in 2023, but nobody would pay 100s of dollars for a concert ticket to watch somebody actually just press play on their album at a concert. There truly is a great performative aspect that comes with this and it’s nice that you’re sharing these tips with people. My only hope is that I can make an oldskool sounding banger people won’t wanna stop spinning! 🎉❤

Alternatively, make a loop > when in the loop press a hotcue button > then, an orange loop hotcue should appear also indicated with an orange arrow symbol > on your laptop press the orange arrow so that it turns red.

This way when the track is playing and arrives at the loop section, it will automatically play the loop.

It’s fun to just loop off the cuff, you don’t have to set loops for each trak. I like to let traks play as they were made. You can over use effects, loops just because you can🎵🎵🎵🎵

Though.. in trying to get rid of my markers, I placed several ones on one of my tracks 😂

Question from a beginner: If I don't put it as an active Loop, but I save it in the memory. How can I activate this saved Loop?
(Also I use Serato lite, so it seems like I only have 4 hot cues... so I don't want to put it on a hot cue.)

in rekordbox or Traktor is there a way the loop to be always active when is played ?

yes and if you do this and forget to mix another one the crowd will listen to that loop forever and absolutely not notice anything or think you are a bad dj 😅
