I think golbetty is like a SU fusion. And that why they clearly still care for Simon while also still doing their job. Golbetty cares for both things now

I believe the reason Golbetty's appearance changed is because Golb was slowly taking back control. Betty's willpower was slowing down the process but eventually Golb would regain full control and absorb Betty. And in the end that's what happened because it looked like Golb had returned to his original form.

1:36 It shooked me a lot to hear Scarab saying "Stay out of this" as in he and Simon were having some kind of personal, unresolved issues with eachother (if that makes sense), while in the spanish version that I saw he said "Don't get me into this" like if he was only doing his job and didn't wanted to go deeper into the problems regarding Fionna, Cake and Simon, or as if he didn't do anything wrong.

Either way, I totally see him saying both and the voice actors in both languages absolutely slayed✨️
