After drinking pretty heavily for around 20 years, I decided 2 days ago that enough is enough.
I need to be my best self for not just myself, but for my children.
Here’s to my attempt at sobriety

Thank you for all these recent alcohol related videos! I am 45 days alcohol free and focusing on my health. The more I learn, the more I don’t think I will ever go back.

Quit drinking alcohol 8 years ago and have not looked back once. Single best decision I've ever made in regards to my health more so my mental health.

Been free from alcohol for 3 years. Not because I knew in my mind I should stop, but because my body felt like shit from it. Not just the hangover but WHILE drinking…it felt like I was poisoning myself.

What helped me become aware of what it was actually doing to me…was becoming aware of emotions that I had buried within me and facing them and letting them out. I became more sensitive to everything and more intuitive and loving because I was strong enough to face dark emotions. I had no use for alcohol anymore.

I used to be the guy who did not want to hear this. When i committed to keto and intermittent fasting, I knew I had to quit alcohol if I were to see the results I wanted. It's been 2 years since I've all but quit alcohol and I feel great! If i do drink, it's 2 MAX. Any more than that really disrupts my performance and mood three next day. It's a reminder as to why I quit that lifestyle to begin with. Thanks to people like yourself giving scientifically backed data, I've been able to lose 100 lbs and keep it off!

Consumed alcohol the majority of my 20s. Just turned 30 two weeks ago and decided to quit cold turkey and slowly transition to keto. All the best to you all

My husband and I quit alcohol last month and we are seeing the benefits everyday! From saving money to being more productive and active. We used to sit around in the evening and share a bottle of wine a couple nights a week. We’ve essentially replaced drinking with physical activity and it actually feels great!

Thanks for continuing to talk about the detrimental effects of alcohol. I'm generally a health conscious person but tend to binge drink. I know it's extremely unhealthy, and the more info the better! You're helping others that may want to look at their drinking!

I haven’t had a drink since 2016. Best decision of my life. I will never go back to this toxic substance. I think we need more voices like this pointing out the many health dangers of alcohol

I’m 10 days alcohol free and just taking it one day at a time. Deprogramming myself from the FOMO is going to take a long time.

Im 80-days sober, after 20 years 😢..but who’s counting! I did a full blood panel about 7-weeks in because I was terrified to do it sooner, I realized whatever the results were will be much easier to handle now with sober time under my belt. Thank you for these videos, they keep me strong and remind me of all the reasons why I quit and what an accomplishment this journey really is. Keep moving forward and never look back.

I almost drank me to death last year. I came out of a very toxic relationship last year juni the 15th. Due to this relationship I lost my pension money and my life in Holland. I live now in Hungary. I started to drink extremely and every day more and more until I drank 2 bottles of wine and 1 bottle of wodka a day. I had more and more thoughts of wanting to die and being a total worthless human being living in a strange country. Until the 6th of January 2023. There I experienced a severe pain in my chest to my left arm. That day I came home and sat on my couch and started to talk to myself. After a long emotional conversation with myself I never drank anymore and also quit smoking. The next day I started sports daily and since then I already lost 8kg. I started at 114 and want to go to 95kg. Not only my body heals now but also my mind. I'm still alone but not lonely anymore. I still am broke and poor, but not in my mind. I live now for myself and my sport and will walk the earth alone till I die, free of any addiction.

I haven't had a drink since January 4th and it was one of the best decisions of my life. I don't know if or when I'll drink again but I know I don't miss it. I'm looking forward to where this journey takes me.

I was a daily drinker from 17-39 (2 years sober in that time). At least 8 drinks per night. Way more on weekends and a few years in there when I drank from breakfast to passing out late at night.
I’ve been sober for just over 18 months now and I wish that everyone would give sobriety a shot. The effects that alcohol has on the body, mind and spirit is not worth whatever benefits the user gains in the moment.
To everyone getting sober or already sober - keep going. It is 100% worth the effort and the dedication. It might feel lonely sometimes but there are millions of us out here with you!

I gave up alcohol in July 2022...towards the end of The Daniel Fast. I knew it wasn't good for me, but could never imagine quitting...totally tied up in the wine culture. I felt the Lord move me to let go. I let go of my fancy openers, beautiful wine decanters, fine crystal glasses, imagining which expensive Napa Cab I was going to buy next...all of it. It was like the Lord totally lifted it all off of me. I no longer had to struggle (even though I thought about quitting for years, but couldn't do it), and it is something so alien to me now, and can't believe it once figured so prominently in my life! All I can say is I gave it over to God, and He is the one that cured me...not myself! He'll help anyone! My health has soared as a result!

5 months sober and running 4 miles a day after 10 years of heavier drinking and no fitness. I also train with a boxing coach twice a week. Down 35 pounds to 175 and for the first time ever I have abs. I also dream every night and my mood has completely centered. Drinking to occupy your time can easily be replaced if you just get up and start to do it.

I’ve been getting black out drunk every single night for the last 3 months (I’ve had 2 sober nights) and all of these recent alcohol videos have really showed me how much damage I’m doing to myself. Tonight is my last night. Thank you Thomas!!!!
