NOTHING WORKED FOR ME! Had to do a reset and even then there was an error message that said it had trouble resetting. It went away and the puter went back to normal. But i Tried EVERYTHING !! TRIED reloading driver, combination keys, rebooting. Nothing worked except computer reset.

I have an interesting problem. Brand new 12 gen pc with i5 processor. Installed windows 10. PC restarted normally and works fine. Then I switched it off. When switching it on I got a black screen. Ran the installation media, clicked repair and then restore. Restored to the latest restore point. Program was removed and pc booted normally. Restarted it several times no problem. Power it down and once again black screen. ANy suggestions?

My memory broke and the memory slot also probably from overheating. I took out both memories, one slot did not catch the memory, so I used only the second slot and the new memory and it works again!

look for a video where it teach you how to uninstall latest update or how to reset to a system restore point (make sure that the reatore point time is just before the update so you don't go far in reset) also make sure you see affected programms to you're sure not to lose precious files

Thank you thank you thank you. I checked all my connections removed all the excess USBs rebooted and Wala the Windows update is doing its thing now so thanks for putting this out there. And as a tech geek myself I don’t know why I didn’t think about check your connections that’s the first thing you always do check your connections know I wanted to blame Microsoft. I have tried all tips from this video and from your other video with black screen. I haven't visited any websites that would give me a virus and this has been happening for the past week. It is like a light black gray screen but after about one hour to 45 minutes it will load my homescreen and work fine. However I can not do things such as running powershell as administrator to reinstall Microsoft store after I uninstalled it due to problems with the app. Just wondering if you has any advice thanks!

Hi Team,
Since I installed Windows 10 update, I get a black screen. My laptop starts booting; gets to the start screen (Lenovo) then it turns black. To solve this, I started WinRe and de-installed the updates, and lo-and-behold, the laptop display worked again temporarily.

But, now I can no longer de-install the updates - the laptop screen remains black again. The laptop is still running. I’ve now tried all standard trouble-shoots; even restoring Win 10, whilst retaining files but deleting the Apps. The screen remains black. If I start in safe mode everything works fine, only I can’t access the internet in Safe Mode via Wi-Fi.

It must be a software problem if the display runs in safe-mode. Maybe a Windows 10 update problem. Maybe restoring windows restores Win10 updates? It is really frustrating that Windows updates can be postponed for a time but are compulsory, so I will be grateful for any advice. Microsoft does not provide adequate assistance.

Tried all solutions in your video, except for the last one and non worked. But I knew it had to be a software problem because: 2 different hardware tests couldn't find a hardware problem, the laptop started up normal except for the build in display, worked normal and the external display worked just fine as well. Meaning, I could still use the thing but with an external display only. Because both options in your last solution remove all apps and programs in the process, I decided to try something different first: uninstalling the last Windows (quality) update. Disabled quick startup and paused Windows updates in settings first. Then uninstalled the update. Shut down the laptop after it. Unplugged the external display and pressed the start up button et voilà: build in display worked again. Lesson learned: next time I'll unplug the external display before (re)installing a Windows "quality" update. Pfrt.

The only thing that worked for me was to uninstall explorer patcher and ztart is back and remove peripherals and restart after uninstallimg feature update..

Ctrl Shift Win B did not work at all. I think my GPU is dead. All I did was restart my PC and now this.

On laptops. Try holding shutdown button and then turn it on again normally. Helped my blackscreen issue. This happened right after updating. So probably not a hardware issue
