Used this method today and boom! Red Dead is working again! Only thing is after doing the fix you need to reboot your computer for the changes to take effect. Worked like a charm. Thanks Adonis!

Did not fix my issue, i try and close RDR2 in steam, it just says "Stopping" - I go into task manager, and scroll down to where the Rockstar Launcher is located in my programs list and try to force close. It does not close at all. Only way to go back to square 1 is a PC reboot.

Any ideas? ive uninstalled and reinstalled Rockstar launcher like 4x and the game 3x

that did not work for me, I see bottom where its say PLAY ON STEAM going LOADING and then in around 10-20 seconds later, Its stops and its switch to (QUITTING) for a second and return back to PLAY ON STEAM

didn't work for me. Thanks for the video though. So basically what happened is that before the most recent update, I was running the game on old launchers so that I could use mods that were no longer working after the April update. Old scripthook, old launchers, old mod files all from the version prior to the April update. Everything worked fine for me until this most recent update and now nothing is working. At first it wouldn't work (obviously) due to me having a shit load of mods that were outdated and an old scripthook version so I took everything out and kept getting the "error code: crash result. So I decided to do a fresh install and now that I did that and theres absolutely nothing extra in the game's root folders, it just won't start at all. It simply loads up the rockstar engine and then when that closes, and the game would usually start, nothing happens and steam goes from "running" to "play". Does anyone have a solution for me?
