Steve Jobs Leadership Skills Breakdown - How To Motivate People

When Steve Jobs returned as the CEO of Apple in 1997, the company was on the verge of bankruptcy. Today, Apple is the most profitable company on the planet, thanks in huge part to Steve Jobs leadership. He was able to motivate employees, turn the company around, and preside over huge developments like the iMac, iPod, iPhone, and iPad.

But Steve Jobs is unique in that despite clearly being an effective leader, he was not particularly likeable. Steve Jobs presentation and interview skills were legendary though. In this video we break down exactly what it was that made Steve Jobs such a powerful leader by examining his interviews and speeches. The goal is to use the lessons from his life to learn how to motivate employees and the people in our lives.

1. Keep the company's vision very simple
2. Focus on something that matters rather than being no.1 in the industry.
3. Creating an enemy (e.g. IBM) and use the emotionally-charging metaphor (e.g. war)
4. Conviction - He really believed in what he said.

How to express more conviction through word choice?
Say "We are" "We will" with internal confidence.

I have been watching Steve Jobs videos, and reading about him extensively. This man was special yes, but not in the way people think, or in this image he built for the world. He was a narcississt, brilliant and manipulative man. He was indeed passionate but for selfish reasons, you see in psychology there is something called death anxiety, this is a psychological disorder where a person will deeply fear death, and by death they fear that they will be forgotten. The more you are arrogant in your own self the more likely you fear its eminent inexistence. Steve jobs had it in spades, he was passionate about being remembered, not changing the world.

Wow dude, you are going to be huge. I keep seeing that subscriber number go up dramatically each day. It is no surprise, you are extremely articulate and have really insightful breakdowns. This concept is brilliant honestly, I'm surprised no one else has really done this (like this) in the self-help space or at least as well as you do. I am familiar with these concepts, and terms, but I love it when they are applied to people in the public eye. It really helps to hammer down the points. It is almost like "in-field" footage but with familiar characters. Good Job.

Hi There Charlie. :) As a newbie to your videos, having just stumbled onto you a couple days ago, I wanted to say to you " I'm Impressed fella!!
Your voice has a nice tone with a clear speaking pattern that makes you easy to listen too. Which in turn makes you enjoyable to learn from. And that's Fabu in my book, being the curious cat that I am. :) I find your presentations informative, interesting and entertaining to the point you have me wanting more. Which is One of the signs of a succeeding venture... so Kudos! In this HUGE world of the internet, being able to keep someone engaged is a testament to your talent, hard work and dedication you have put into developing a quality product that can deliver on its objective. So Charlie, Thank you. We humans need all the help we can get with understanding how to navigate ourselves, and each other, in a positive productive way which will, hopefully, create more kindness in our world🙃 #kindnessisfree

Hey, I really love every video you make! Easy to follow and quite singular compared to others!
Since Steve Jobs is one of the most unique and inspiring entrepreneur of all time, would you mind if you make a bunch of video about him?
Especially the interview at All Things Digital with Bill Gates!
Thanks in advance :)

“Health is the greatest gift, contentment is the greatest wealth, A trusted friend is the best relative, liberated mind is the greatest bliss.” ... Ok that's from someone a little wiser than myself.
accordingly there are two qualities that everyone should develop compassion (everything heartfelt) and wisdom (intellectual acumen) ...
Brilliant video Sir... bravo... thanks for sharing.

I love your mindset, and the fact that you apparently love to share your ideas and thoughts. Having a conversation with you about anything would be very pleasing since I love discussing ideas and thoughts more than anything. Good work
