I will always remember my favorite teacher not for what I learned but for how he made me feel. He was very caring and empathetic. Always making sure his students knew how smart we were and that we could all make a difference. Mr. Davis-5th grade

I've worked as a teacher for five years. It's hard to be 100% every day. I teach from 8-3 with a 50-minute break each day, and I'm burnt out by the time my afternoon classes roll around. The best thing I've learned is to not teach all the time. Teach mini-lessons for 5-10 mins, have the students work together for a little bit, then shift to independent assignments. The bulk of the work is independent, so I try to make that as engaging and hands-on as possible so kids don't become disruptive over boring assignments.

“The mediocre teacher tells. The good teacher explains. The superior teacher demonstrates. The great teacher inspires.”
- William Arthur Ward
Just recently made a video about dropping out, because quite often I just get told stuff that I should memorize.
But we have one incredibly inspiring professor, he makes up for all the rest. It's so valuable to have at least one great teacher!

Mr. Shepard, Who nurtured my love of Geography and a hunger for knowledge of the world around me. Your teaching made me feel brilliant in a world that kept telling me I was stupid and predisposed for failure. I completed assignments ahead of time and read through the entire text book several times for my own enjoyment. Today I am still someone who cares about the lives of folks around the world who walk a different life than myself. I am still able to wonder about who other people are in depth and wonder and joy.
Shepard passed some time after pandemic. Rest in Perfect, Brilliant Peace. I follow in your footsteps today.

I'll never forget her, my physics teacher of my first and second year in high school. She's so caring and professional. I can ask her anything and she'll answer it flawlessly (which my recent teacher can't). She noticed every little details or changes of her student and immediately found a way to talk to them, listen to their stories and not judge them by all means.
When she transferred to other institution, i cried my heart out and couldn't get over it. Now, I'm still miss her so much.

There was this one teacher called Mr. Bates who just went above and beyond. He often tought in memorable ways, was very in touch with new stuff and just had a good sense of humour. He also was great at teaching, subjects 2 years ahead of us sounded easy and simple. I will always remember him for making 5th grade ( year 6) such a joy

"Teaching is a highly complex skill" Most people just don´t see that.

A teacher that gets children involved and excited to learn, is the teacher that is effective. Children have to want to learn. My favorite teacher was Mrs. Johnson. She was my 4th, 5th, and 6th grade teacher, and she showed me she cared and made learning fun.

The best thing I have experienced in school (besides my friends) is being taught by the teachers I had. If a teacher can explain things difficult in a way that you understand, it gives you a confidence boost, knowing you just learned and UNDERSTOOD a difficult concept.

Yes even I agree,
there are few teachers in my life who have not only taught me the subject but also the way to live life, making independent, handling situations effectively, motivating, always encouraging and seeing possibilities and positivity in every situations. So yes, only knowing the subject is not important but learning it is. Thanks to all such teachers

An important thing for a teacher I believe is to complement a student's honest efforts.

It's a simple psychology. There are students who never get enough credit for than what they originally deserve so simply complementing their little achievements at a young age boosts their motivation dramatically and also helps them grow with a positive vibe.

My favorite professor is Sandhya ma'am. She makes the topics interesting by interacting with everyone and she notice everyone and make sure we understand that topic correctly. Her jokes r intellectual and related to that particular topic. I want to become a person like

Yeah there are people who think some people are just natural learners and it cannot be taught. Glad to see another creator talk about this kind of thing.

Having a great teacher in school, sports, life, can have a huge impact.

My most impressive teachers were in physics and chemistry in middle school. Physics was, in retrospect, very impressive, because I had no problems there, although the teacher had high expectations and I regularly almost failed maths. When we had a change of teacher in maths and got him as a new teacher, my grades on the report card rose by 2 grade points in 3 years (I had to make up a lot) and thus enabled me to pursue further school careers.
My chemistry teacher, while we were studying the Bohr atomic model in class, sat me down and talked to me about how the paths of electrons are calculated and what different shapes their paths can take. He encouraged me to learn more about the subjects that actually interested me, even if it wasn't supposed to be 'age-appropriate'.

My English teacher really improved my essays, especially literature analysis and is kind, empathetic and supportive. The best thing is that she never picks favourites

One of my favorite teachers was my 8th grade English teacher. She told us stories about her life, and she challenged us beyond what was normal. In other classes, I always got A's. In hers, I always got B's. She even hosted an optional weekend club to learn SAT words and grammer better, and brought donuts!
