Temple Initiatory Part 1: Washing

Today we are talking about the washing ceremony that happens in the initiatory ordinance in temples of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. We’ll introduce the initiatory ordinance, discuss the symbolism of ritual washings, and the role they place in history and culture.

The initiatory is the first part of the temple endowment, but is also a separate ordinance in itself. The initiatory is an introduction to the endowment and is a preliminary step in our journey towards exaltation.

I’m going through all of these in sequence. 2 things, are you and institute or seminary CEC employee? Looks like and institute office. 2 and not that it effects our salvation or the covenants we made, at what point was the washing changed from actual to symbolic? And when did women start doing it for women? Didn’t priesthood brethren use to do this for the sisters? Maybe you cover changes like this in later videos but I’d be interested to learn about those type of things as well if we have the ability to cover on a public forum like this. Thanks

REV 12:11 They overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony, We are cleansed, justified and santified by the blood of Christ. There is no need for these ordinances and rituals, , Seek first the kingdom of God, and His righteousness, (not our own, no made up rules and religious laws.
