5 HOMEMADE SEASONING MIXES

Hey guys! Today I am sharing how easy it is to make your own mixes. Join me as I make 5 homemade seasoning mixes.

Nesquik
1/3 cup cocoa powder
2/3 cup sugar
pinch salt

Ranch Seasoning
5 tbsp dried minced onion
7 tsp parsley flakes
4 tsp salt
1 tsp garlic powder

Taco Seasoning
1/2 cup chili powder
1/4 cup onion powder
1/8 cup ground cumin
1 tbsp garlic powder
1 tbsp paprika
1 tbsp sea salt

Pumpkin Pie Spice
3 tbsp cinnamon
2 tsp ground ginger
2 tsp nutmeg
1.5 tsp allspice
1.5 tsp cloves

Italian Spice Blend
2 tbsp basil
2 tbsp oregano
1 tbsp thyme
1 tbsp rosemary
1 tbsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp onion powder
1/4 tsp salt

Love the idea to put the pumpkin pie spice on a sweet potato, trying to cut the extra sugar out of our diets, but the hubs loves the extra sweet on the sweet potato, I think he would love the spice mix on it instead, I'm definitely trying it. Thanks for sharing Vanessa.

These are a wonderful idea. And they can make great Christmas gifts. Maybe try grinder them up, a bit, in a coffee grinder used for spices? Especially on the ranch mix. Thanks for sharing!!

Dry Onion Soup Mix
4Tbsp. dried onion flakes
2 Tbsp. powdered beef or chicken bouillon
1 tsp. onion powder
1 tsp. garlic powder
1 tsp. Dried parsley

I love making my own seasoning mixes, so much better then buying the store bought and you can control the salt.

If your pour the ingredients into waxed/parchment paper you can fold and pour into the jars a little easier when working with larger measuring cups. My daughter made mug cake mixes for friends last years and we learned real fast how much cleaner it could be 😂

Hi Vanessa, love your vlogmas so far. I wanted to tell you about a place online that I get my spices. It is called the spice house out of Evenston Illinois. They have the best spices and herbs and most of the time they are cheaper than McCormick. And a zillion times more fresh. I love that your mixing your own spice blends. I am not associated with the spice house. But I have been using their spices forever and if you taste them you will never go back to store spices.

I like to make my own mixes too. I think I would also add dill to the ranch mix. I need to make the ranch one. I think homemade seasoning salt is so much better than store bought too.

Awesome! How do you use the ranch mix, especially for making dip? My boyfriend and I are total snackers on quiet nights when we don't have any of our kids and chips with ranch dip is our usual snack of choice!😂

To your taco seasoning add a little Oregano. You can also add Cayenne Pepper if you want a little spicy. I use jalapeno powder that I make myself.

I have made all of the mixes myself except the hot chocolate one! Great idea! I am going to make this up and have it on hand for my coffee!! Yum. Thanks for the idea. Curious what you think about them? I didnt care for the smoked paprika in my taco mix but when I made it again I just used regular and it was much better 😁
