Just like every state in the USA, there’s good and a lotta bad. The goal today is to talk about the worst places you could live in Texas. These are the places that just about everyone here would agree are pretty crummy.

In order to determine which are the worst places in Texas, we just had to look at ‘worst’ things. That means statistics like crime, poverty and bad schools. The type of stuff most Texans tend to avoid.

So, grab some BBQ and throw on your boots as we mosey on through the worst places you can live in the state of Texas.

Killeen We begin our journey along the worst places you can live in Texas in the small city of Killeen, just off of I-35 west of Temple.

Our next stop along our worst Texas tour brings us to Cleveland Texas. This is a much smaller place - the population is only around 7,000 people. Cleveland is along I-69 northeast of Houston.

Okay, so we’re going to take a quick stop in our 8th worst place you can live in Texas, Hutchins. Here in Hutchins, things aren’t very good. This teeny little city of 5,200 people is just outside the Dallas belt line.

But for now, it’s time to move on to our 7th worst place to live in Texas, El Paso. For things to do, there is more than in the other cities we’ve mentioned so far. Of course, there’s a university here, and some mountains to hike in. And you can go to Juarez for a thrill. Does having more 99 cent stores than anywhere else on earth count for something?

Our next stop along our worst place to live in Texas tour stops in Donna. This little city of 15,000 is located Donna, located at the far southeastern tip of the state, between McAllen and Brownsville.

We’re halfway through our tour of the most worstest cities to live in the entire state of Texas and we’re going to stop in number 5, Humble. Like Houston, Humble is a case of the haves and have nots. It has a low economic outlook and significantly high number of convenience and discount stores.

Our fourth worst place to live in the state of Texas is none other than Port Arthur. Here, home prices are the 16th lowest in Texas, and the unemployment rate is in the top 10%.

Hey now. We’re in the top three worst places you can live in Texas, as we come to Robstown. A ton of people are out of work here - more than 8%. Average home price in Texas is $151k. Robstown’s is $50k.

Who’s our runner up as the worst place in Texas? Bellmead is. Do they even have a Whataburger here?

The worst place to live in Texas is Southeast Houston after dark.

Music by Chris Zabrinski and Kevin MacLeod.

Humble is down by the border...NOPE. El Paso is near Dallas...wrong again. Seriously, would it have hurt to take a second to figure out where exactly these cities are located before randomly throwing a star at a map?!!!

I've been living and working in El Paso for the past 11 years and I love it here. Definitely not as bad as portrayed in this video. I also grew up in the Killeen area and still have a home there. Killeen is not a pretty place for sure, but also not as bad as portrayed here. Plenty to do by going north or south an hour or two. The 2 lakes also offer plenty of recreation.

Had to stop at 4:30 into the video. If El Paso is near Dallas. My head must clearly be up my butt.

As a Texan as soon as I heard “howdy” I knew that the Stereotypes would begin.
(Also Killeen is a crapy place)

I've lived in Texas my whole life. I've moved 26 times mainly because my parents were drug addicts and I've been on my own since I was 17. I can honestly say the worst city in Texas is where i was born, Galena Park. I don't know how you missed that one. Surrounded by chemical refineries, the high school drop out rate is over 50% and the only reason it's not higher is because the junior high drop out rate is over 15%. high crime, strippers are considered good jobs because the pay is higher than average. With the exception of Port Author, Galena Park makes every other city on your list look like Disney World.
Wichita Falls is really bad also.

The footage he's showing of "Southeast Houston" is actually video from Skid Row in Los Angeles! Come on, man.

Maybe everyone who’s not from Texas should go back to their state, I feel like ever since katrina the city’s in Houston have been worst especially with human trafficking being high in Houston rn

listened to your video with open mind up to El Paso and decided to end it. I've lived here over 45 years and it has much more to offer than you stated so briefly. I should have been alerted when I saw that you indicated El Paso being in northeast Texas. Also, statistically, El Paso is one of the safest cities in America, do your homework. Lastly, as a black man, the people in El Paso are far more friendly, accepting and warm compared to MANY east Texas cities.

Perspective is everything when it comes to where you live.I'm from Dublin Ireland and grew up in Ballyfermot, a concrete ghetto back in the day, it was a lawless, deadly dangerous place where the weak got kicked around daily, and the gangs and bully's ruled. It's a different place these days, it has evolved and morphed into a desireable place to live. All of Texas is beautiful in my eyes.I'm living in Baytown 16 years and close to the water, palm trees, lovley weather, nice people, never had an ounce of trouble from anyone. I'm extremely fortunate and equally grateful to be here. God bless America and the Lone star state, full of incredible guitar players, music, lots of churches, I love it here.

I lived in Houston and the Katy area for most of my life but finally moved out of the state. Couldn’t stand the over population massive traffic jams and extreme heat and flooding any longer not to mention the crime. There were many good points like a gazillion restaurants and places to shop and lots of jobs and home prices but as I got older I just had to get out of the rat race of the traffic and over population. Like all cities it had it’s good and bad points…. It all depends on what is kind of life style you want to live.

El Paso and Humble are marked incorrectly on your little map there...

I moved to El Paso 3 years ago, and yes, there are tons of dollar trees stores here. However, the people are actually very friendly and kind. Like every big city with a metro population of over a million, there are areas to avoid at night but for the most part I’ve never felt in any danger. Across the river in Juarez, that’s a different story.

I live happily in El Paso. It's very safe and family friendly, great commute times, no natural disasters, awesome food, etc. I've never seen a 99 cent store, so, I Google it and I was right. There are none here. You should visit El Paso before giving a review.
