Wow, this was delicious, enjoyed every spoon full. Luved adding the puff pastry too, yummy.
My wife came in from work just as I was finishing up. She hates mushrooms; nevertheless she tried a spoonful and another spoonful and another. She asked if we could have it for tea that night. She’s hooked on it now.
So thank you for that coz we can share this beautiful soup again.

Just made this. I changed it a bit by pureeing the mushrooms, using a dry white wine, because that is what we had. And cooked it down a bit more to make extra thick & creamy. Oh & I left out the carrots so it wouldn't be so sweet. Great recipe foundation to work with. Thank you!!

Thank you for sharing this amazingly delicious recipe. I have made it over and over again. It’s by far the one and only mushroom soup.
I make this soup and add shredded roast chicken and make chicken and mushroom pot pie. Super delicious. 👏🏻😋🥰

Okay, everyone needs to stop this nonsense about not washing mushrooms with running water because “mushrooms are like sponges and they’ll absorb the water”. Utterly ridiculous. Go ahead and waste your time wiping each mushroom with a paper towel, but a reminder YOU’RE ADDING THEM TO A LARGE POT OF WATER!
