I have a great GTO story. I used to house sit, mow, shovel the driveway, and take care of my elderly neighbors plants, Bee and Leroy they were about 85 at the time. Leroy was part of the reason I am a car guy, he had a beautiful 66 gto in maroon he called Rosie, it had 2400 miles, and he was the only owner. He didn’t drive it anymore, because he had macular degeneration, so he wasn’t able to drive. I did things for them for free for about 10 years for age 6-16, for free because they were amazing neighbors, and needed the help. I came home from school one day on my 16th birthday, and walked past bee and Leroy’s house. Bee called me over, and had a cake for me, I smiled and thanked them, as I was about to leave Leroy walked in, and said “you are forgetting something” I was confused, I had my backpack, after he said that he handed me a small box, I opened it, and the keys to the gto were inside. He and I teared up, I asked him if he was serious, he was. They said it was payment for all of the help I’d given them. I still have Rosie 6 years later, and I plan to gift her to someone deserving someday too. Leroy sadly passed away 2 months after that, I’ll never forget the smile on his face everyday when I’d drive her by and give a little honk. Truly one of the best men I’ve ever met. He was like a father to me since I didn’t have one. I know he’s in heaven driving again and smiling down on me. Rip Leroy fly high 🕊️

I had in late 70's such cars from 68, 69 Chargers 383 and 440 R/T. 67 Malibu with a corvette 327. 68 AmX 343 go package. 70 1/2 camaro split bumper, hugger orange. 68 fast back torino was my slowest. just to name a few. Awesome cars. Glad I'm over it though. It's not just the price of the car but replacement parts cost.

I would love a Road Runner. Any year RR would be fine, but a '68 383 four-speed hardtop would be my favorite.

I suggest the ‘70-72 Buick gs400. It’s not as powerful as the gsx but it’s still practically the same. Another is the ‘68-69 Chevy malibu 2 doors. They still offer some great muscle under the hood (up to 350 hp) from factory.

I have a 1977 l82 Vette, some people will knock any l82 after 74 but I firmly believe those are the type of people that own a 2006 Honda Civic, thing will really move. Highly recommend them especially for the price. Got mine for 10.5k

I had a 66 gto. Mint. Had it in the early 80s. Sold it cause I lived in New Orleans, and it had no ac. I had 2 challengers, and a camaro to. My dad had a 65 and a half mustang. He redid it, then sold it.
