'2 rings 1 sling' anchor

Показать описание
If you're short on carabiners, here's a way to make an anchor on two rings or short chains with just a double length 120 cm sling and one carabiner for the master point.
1) Check the rings to see there are no metal bits that might damage your sling.
2) Girth hitch the sling to one of the rings, keeping the sewed bar tacking out of the way.
3) Pass the sling through the other ring, and pull it down.
4) Clip all the strands with a locking carabiner and tie an overhand knot. Done.

If the team above you who is descending wants to rappel past you, that's easy to do even with an anchor like this. Simply clip one of your locking carabiners onto your master point, and have the descending team use this carabiner for their rappel.

Love this, ticks all the boxes and it's super quick

My favorite anchor in this situation is to quickdraw the two rings (or hangers or links) together. That way, either ring can be used as a nice high master point. I tether to one ring and bring the follower up on the other ring.

It might be cool to do this with a girth-hitched master point. That's all the rage these days.
