OU and OSU simply do not award many academic scholarships to Engineer Majors. My daughter (who is also hispanic) was a 4.0 High School student with a 33 ACT and couldn't get a decent scholarship offer from either OU or OSU. Even UCO's best scholarship they offer isn't a full ride. Almost all of the smaller schools offer full rides, but they do not have Engineering programs. If SWOSU, SE and NSU had Engineering programs, more students who cannot afford OU, OSU, and UCO would go there and get Engineering degrees because these schools actually DO offer full rides to academic achievers. The State of Oklahoma is not going to produce as many Engineers because the State of Oklahoma as a whole awards far less full ride scholarships at Engineering universities than universities that do not have Engineering programs.
