Franchising killed the competitive scene

So true. A major reason in why the league is so boring to watch at times is because no one outside the top 4 is ever winning.

Censor talking like he hasn’t been begging to be picked up by any of these teams that he’s calling trash 😂😂😂😂

All the more reason to bring back CWL. We want to see more teams than just AF, Ultra, Optic and NYSL fighting at the top.

Give us open bracket like in CWL where these amateur/challengers team have a chance to knock out your favorite team, the format was just right for the competitive aspect in all ways

Having 4 top tier teams that could all interchangeably win any given event is pretty solid actually. The problem is there should be a couple more average teams closer to .500 that could push a top team on a good day. Right now it’s just the elite teams, Vegas, and a bunch of hot garbage.

2 things needs change for cod then.

- Take away advanced movement and revert to Bops2/Ghosts movement. This keeps older players in the league (or bring them back), & now we have a chess game again.

- bring back MLG LAN formats. We wanna see the top AM teams making upsets vs pro teams again. Franchising can still be a thing but let AM teams earn their place to play them in bracket play.

CWL was better. Back then if your team sucked you got relegated. And if you were good enough you could go and play against the pros and take them on. Here it’s closed off and it’s sad to see teams that aren’t good just staying there not good getting slaughtered When they play against the top four team.

It went from groups of friends competing for fun to “it’s all about the paycheck” like everything else in this shitty capitalistic society. The ultimate goal of money ruins the entire journey

He's obviously right but I don't think any roster changes will help at this point. You don't get to see the best players when only 12 teams can play. The big bang needs to be CDL shutting down and bringing back CWL

Looking at the CDL this year and the rosters of all the teams and maybe because of the game MW3 that some pros for example Arcitys he was a beast probably one of the best at Black ops Cold War this year doesn’t seem like he’s not at the same level as he was back in Cold War. I’m not sure if the game that comes out also can impact the players performance I get it that they’re all cod pros and that they get paid to play the game and they practice and scrims every day, but sometimes they’re not as great as in one call of duty game, then in another call of duty game I feel like depending on the game they’re probably not as good as they were in a pass game or they might be even better in the next game that comes out overall in this year and the CDL I think it’s just gonna be the top four teams the competitiveness is right between optic Texas Atlanta Faze New York, sub liners and Toronto ultra

It's like how octane said, and cdl unfortunately is like F1 (due to franchising). The top teams are probably gonna win(top 4) and the bottom teams aren't necessarily trying to win, but they're trying to showcase their talent, so they can get picked up (obviously they're trying to win). Think of George when he went from Williams to Mercedes in F1

It's been this way since the inception of the league. There's been times where one of these bad teams makes a run but it's rare. It's been optic, faze, new york & toronto since the CDL became a thing, specifically since cold war when all the teams kind of settled in. It's pathetic. And there's no amateur scene, it's all pros or nothing. There's pros in challengers that should be on pro teams but can't due to roster spots and limited amount of teams. The tournaments are worse, only getting 2 or 3 matches a day in online quals. The league is in shambles and it's killing the pro scene.

Im pretty sure the orgs are just waiting for the same talk that Activision blizzard had with the OWL.

Hate him or love him. This is probably the realest statement censor has ever said. I mean you wonder why cdl views are dying.. not much teams to cheer on, especially when you know only 4 are good anyway so the fan base cuts down to a few thousand . If they had better players spread across different teams, the teams fan base would rise and cdl would 100% go up in views. I mean look at the perfect example. Whenever scump played, he carried the views. People literally said “ I’m only here to watch my boy scump” having better players with fans will make people watch them play on these pro teams so I hope these Orgs give better players the chance to prove themselves.

What was wrong with the old competitive scene from what I remember we use to have 1 million dollar yearly tournaments with the championship matches being based off teams from the community that earned there way up from pure gun skill it was always my favorite part seing the lineups when it was actually earned spots instead of paid for franchises the gold old days when you could play a gb match and think your a pro for the moment
