How to RECORD Your Computer SCREEN in 4K

You can record your computer screen in 4K using OBS, which is a free software for Mac and PC.

All you need is a 4k monitor and OBS. To see the resolution of the monitor, check your system preferences, and look under the display.
This will show you the resolution.

If you don't have one, you can get one and use it as your primary or secondary monitor.

If you have a 2017 iMac or newer, you already have a 4k monitor build in.

Next, you need to change the recording setting in OBS. You can type in 3840x2160 to get a 4k recording.

When I tried OBS to record PC screen with 4K settings, the system got extremely slow and huge lags occurred. Then I tried ScreenRec on the same PC and it recorded PC screen in 4K without any hassle. I think ScreenRec is the lightest free screen recorder I utilized ever.

Hi, I currently use this to capture my 1080 syntesia piano screen recording. It can't capture 4k maybe as I have an old laptop 2016.
I will buy a new 32ram & 11gb nvidia feforce rtx 2080 graphics card pc with 4k monitor.
Is it nessary to add "elgato game capture card 4k60" needed for capturing this synthesia piano in 4k?
I need to know as its 200£ for this capture card & cryptic if i need it or not.
I don't do gaming at all, i only need to screen capture 4k on the piano synthesia

OBS didn't have a pause button last time i looked. You have to stop and start a new recording. Alot of people were complaining about it on the forums.
