NHL 24 Review

NHL 24 reviewed by Nick Ransbottom on PlayStation 5. Also available on Xbox Series X/S. Narration by Mark Medina.

What’s new in NHL 24 shows a lot of promise. The Exhaust Engine introduces satisfying mechanics that make games feel more intense, though refinement to its balance is needed to keep the defensive team competitive. The improved checking system and inclusion of HUT Moments are significant features as well. However, most of the returning game modes remain nearly untouched from the last couple of years and the introduction of a battle pass, along with some annoyingly long wait times to get into games, make it harder to cheer for.

Ever noticed that all of EA's Sports games have been mediocre for over a decade?? Madden, FIFA, NHL all of them. It's obvious EA doesn't care anymore. They phone it in every year.

Not buying another NHL game for more than 9.99 until they actually change up the engine and gameplay. Same crap it's been for the last 10 years

Im a hardcore nhl player for the past hell since sega days. Snes days. Nhl 24 felt awkward at first but its better than nhl 20-21-22-23.... Why but a 7 its better than most of the previous games. Its a big step forward.

Icon passing is not a multitasking nightmare it is something I've wished and hoped and prayed for many years to come back it is nothing new they used to have it in playstation 2 or 3 It is to make sure your pass is going where you want it instead of the computer dictating the wrong pass. What is still missing is icon selection on defense To make sure you pick the correct player against incoming rushes.

The only positive thing EA added was the vision passing. Helps out a ton especially on breakouts. Everything else is pretty meh.

Total control needs to be removed why make a controller dedicated to hand holding.

3:40 the position of the players correspond with the buttons so you shouldn’t have to look hard. The bottom player is x, top triangle, left square, right circle

The game hasn’t changed in 10 years. Players don’t have the right features, skating is arcade like. There’s no actual realism. Sad
