You power calculation is a little of. Your input voltage (5V) times the shown amperage is the true Wattage for the load + the voltage converter.
So if you crank the output voltage up to let's say 15V and the amperage show is 300mA, the total power consumed is still 5V × 300mA = 1.5W and not 15V × 300mA = 4.5W. The current through the load (when neglecting the current used by the converter) is 300mA × 5V / 15V = 100mA. So the power dissipated by the load is 15V × 100mA = 1.5W. This is according the input voltage (5V) × input current (300mA) = 1.5W.

I am a beginner working with electrical modules so your YouTube videos have been very helpful and informative getting me started. I also teach at a Juvenile Detention Center some young men who have not had good family relationships and many of your projects are on my schedule to show them so they learn a little about soldering and components. Keep up the good work and I will keep watching so I can get more ideas on what I can learn and pass on to others!

What interests me is the voltmeter display - there must be a microcontroller and resistors inside what looks like a 3 digit display.
I just checked and the 3-digit voters are available for sale. 😊

Put a multimeter in series with the output load so we know output current. Output and input currents are not the same, when you multiplied output voltage by input current you got a meaningless power. Measure both currents and we can see input power, output power, and efficiency by dividing output by input power.

Wow, this is absolutely amazing! It's incredible how such a small and affordable module can deliver such impressive results. Thanks for sharing this brilliant find! 👏✨

Another Aliexpress jewel - Thanks for bringing it to our attention ! Could you find a way to get the part under review in the Title please ? You vids are impossible to find later & believe me I've tried.

I like that Adjuster Shaft on that type of pot. First i seen that. Seen it first on your channel. 👍 :)

Hardly a $1 module considering $2.96 shipping, but you can find it as a choice item @ $1.75 and free shipping when total >$10. Thks for adding links.

8:05 I think it draws 0.56A * *5V* = 2.8W, so it's maximum 0.93A @ 3V on the output. Am I right?
Great finding BTW! 👍

my friend, you have many spectators here in Brazil and Portugal. If possible, is there a way for you to post subtitles in Portuguese? it will help us a lot. Thank you for your work and sharing your knowledge with us. God bless you.

I assume it is a MT3608 in a SEPIC configuration?
The inductors are tiny??? A single coupled inductor would have been better.

I used basically the same thing, powered it with a TEC on a heat sink to charge devices in the woods, just need a heat source.

Thank you, I’m going to buy one as I need to power a very bright 12v led from a power bank, this should step up the power. ❤

Would you post the information of the USB volt/ammeter that you use?

We need to see the output on an Oscilloscope to see what crap is in the actual output, because its certainly not a clean DC output voltage with only those components on that PCB.
How bad is the AC component

The first I found quit interesting! But I question whether it can handle the current for very long without over heating.

Wonder if you could run a 24v water cooker through it via a car lighter socket.
