1972 Toyota Corolla: Brake Caliper Restoration

In this episode I take apart my rusty brake calipers and give them an overhaul.

The process was fairly simple. Removal of all the components, sandblast and powder coat the calipers, install new seals, dust boot, and retaining ring, then reassemble.

The powder coat paint I used was called Copper Vein by Eastwood, and had an elegant two tone speckled look to it. I simply clear coated the guide brackets to keep them from oxidizing, and installed a new brake hose line and speed bleeder.

If you have any questions let me know!

some people might not like the music switching from clip to clip in the background. I find it kinda fun, fits the garage vibe. Its always fun recognizing a song, always infuriating when its so familiar and I can't name it. good fun either way

Those calipers are making me feel things I didn’t think I’d feel from seeing calipers

This is one of my favorite ongoing build series on YouTube alongside Aaron Cake. Please keep working and posting!

Also I am so glad The Crushinator could stop by and help with the process, what a great cameo.

Keep it up! It's good to watch someone restoring an old Toyota Corolla. My dad (rest his soul) used to have a Toyota Corolla 1979 model (4 door). If only I had the money back then to restore that, I would've kept it. I'm looking forward 'til you finish this car!

Nice video, very informative!! Your '72 Toy corolla is going to be the envy of many when you complete its restoration. My mother bought a new 1970 corolla in 1969 and I loved that car growing up. She owned it until the late '80's.Cherish that baby please!! Aloha from Hawaii!!

Can’t rush perfection. I do want to see the end too, but all these bits in between are what make it worth the wait.
